The Rest of Japan

The Rest of Japan

Hola!

The main purpose of us going to Japan is to actually put in order some of the stuff my father used to own and is now being distributed and stuff. Also, to put my father to rest. Here’s us the day we put my dad to rest. It was an emotional time.

We went to Ebina after and ate at our favorite steak restaurant. Hungry Tiger. I remember the last time we ate there and it was still with dad. I will always remember this place because this is like our go to steak restaurant ever since I was a child. I may have over ate this visit but hey.

Can I just share that this is probably the best bento I’ve had this trip. I didn’t each much bento per se but yeah this is the best. It’s curry rice and namba chicken from 7/11.

We went to Daiso to finalize our pasalubongs for the whole barangay and my mom was like, let’s eat at a good ramen place.

We ended up here. My mom hated the restaurant but I used to eat here a lot with my co workers and I don’t hate it. The tantanmen was a-okay! But I admit that there are other better places we could have wrapped up our Japan trip. Oh well.

Few days later, we returned to replace the fresh flowers with artificial ones because my mom and I wouldn’t be back so soon. The fresh flowers were still fresh but you know, no one will really replace it once we’re out of Japan. So yeah there’s that.

Corona Virus and China Town

Corona Virus and China Town

Diamond Princess

Minato Mirai

This day we spent with dad’s friends and they took us to China Town. But before that, they showed us the Diamond Princess. The cruise ship that carried a lot of COVID-19 positive individuals. It’s quite a sight. Also very irresponsible of us but yeah we were nowhere near of course but I can’t say the same for the people around us.

We also took some pictures along the way. It was awesome. Can I just say that I took some photos from my dad’s CASIO EX-ZR70WE.

It was okay so maybe I should get something small of a camera to carry everywhere and just leave my DSLR for like huge photoshoot or whatever which I rarely do TBH. But yeah still nice to have them both too so maybe I’d get something small.

So I didn't know how to properly eat this yeah? I ate 1 of the wrapper on its own because I didn't know that it's for that 2 peking duck skin so no wonder it doesn't taste like anything lol.

After the long walk, we went to Chinatown to chow at this All you can eat Chinese Restaurant. It was lovely. Although they really take a while to deliver orders. I remember an article that says the longer you chew your food, the better because our brain recognizes we're full at a certain amount of time so yeah or something like that. Maybe that's a technique they use.

Mamita and I

Is this a rat? I'm not even sure. Not treating us very well though, yeah? With all of what's going on right now.

It was a lovely day though! Took a couple more photos before heading home and voila! That’s all!

Cherry Blossoms in Japan

Cherry Blossoms in Japan

This is nothing like Nakameguro and Ueno Sakura display but it’s the best we can do and yeah not really complaining. This place is very near our house so we don’t really have a problem coming here anytime and I think mom and I did a photoshoot three different times which is great because you know, three different blooming time or whatever. I’m gonna post photos in order for better visualization. Or not. LOL.

Sakura

Staged Candid

Not really at its prime yet.

I actually think that this is UME but my mom was very sure that this is Sakura and there was a point where we were arguing and she literally asked the passerby and the guy was like, SAKURA. Damn it. I know this is not the real Sakura though. Maybe some kind of Sakura but not the Hanami kind of Sakura. Well it might be that too.

What do you think of my mermaid dress, guys? My mom was like, you should wear something else every time I try to put it on. I like it. I mean, it’s kinda heavy and wrinkly but I like it.

It rained when we went this time. I was kinda worried that it will ruin the bloom and stuff but also thankful that I already took loads of pictures the last time. Some of the photos I kinda edited some I can’t really be bothered editing so I leave it all to you guys.

How awesome is this portrait I took of my mom? My mom took a photo of me in portrait setting and it was a massive fail it’s hilarious. I won’t show you because it will ruin my non existent reputation. My skill though is okay, yeah? Yeah.

I can’t really tell what point was the flowers are at its best but they were pretty at any point so really thankful and blessed that I get to see them many many times.

That is all guys! Thank you so much!

Old Friends

Old Friends

Kid at heart

Dad’s friend dropped us near here and because we were kind of early still, we went to the nearest 7/11 first, then Lawson, and kind of passed by this playground. I mean, nothing much. Just stopped by to take Insta photos.

I can’t explain how thankful I am of this fam. So it’s just right to pay them a visit, right? Also, my boy Tora is just so big now! I’m surprised he still remembers me. I mean, like he still remembers our closeness and stuff. He wasn’t a bit shy when he saw me.

I don’t really have much to say. It’s been more than a year since I saw them and stuff. Loads of catching up happened and yeah, this is my family away from family when I was in Japan. Forever grateful!

Sagamiono Station

We took some photos at the station and normally, I wouldn’t but yeah I don’t really know when I’ll be back again so I took some with the mother dear. That’s about how our day went. A day well spent if you ask me. Adios!

Sanja Matsuri in Asakusa

June 07, 2017 0
Sanja Matsuri in Asakusa

I have mentioned before that there are places here in Japan that I probably wouldn't go to alone and Asakusa, I figured, is one of those places. Nothing personal.

I must admit though, going up Tokyo Sky Tree (alone) was on my non-existing bucketlist befofe. On that note, should I make one for real? Like, to make my life more legitimately interesting or something??

I have been here with my college friend Kim before. That time, I remember being on a hunt for my mama's bag that she bought so many years ago and we failed.

I wanted us to succeed this time but when we went, it was all chaotic like this.

I don't have TV at home nor knowledge what's going on here in Japan so things like this, I don't have an idea but we were warned beforehand that they might have something going on in there. Obviously we didn't expect it to be that big. We went anyways. Sanja Festival is apparently one of the three biggest festivals in Japan and millions of tourist go there just for that festival.

I'm not usually big on festivals like this. Well I'd probably still go for the food once in a while but you know, I guess growing up in a different country makes you clueless so...

Anyways, it was so crowded when we went and it was quite impossible to check the shops one by one so we decided to somehow go with the flow.

Sensoji Temple

We ended here. Somehow. Thankfully.

Again, one of the places I probably won't go to alone. I like places that are more serene. I think.

I also wasn't able to eat anything from the booths even though I'm already dead hungry because you know, we were heading for lunch (at 3:30pm) after we took the picture above.

One reason I'd see myself coming to Asakusa is the day I'd buy authentic Japanese goodies. I mean, stores after stores of souvenirs!! Also, the day I would go up the Sky Tree. And!!! Japan's oldest amusement park is in there! Somewhere.

Yas! Couple Goals.

This is where we had our late lunch.

You can't tell because I've always been fat but man, I was so full!!!

It was kind of pretty at night. We were tired though and we're starting early the next day so we went home early. Oh mom bought two bags similar to hers. It was quite a day of accomplishment.

I know we will see each other again, Asakusa. Until then!
