Shots Fired at MOA | #Scary

Shots Fired at MOA | #Scary

I have blogged about the same topic before. You know, I never thought I would experience this first hand. And I wouldn't have wished because that shit is scary as eff!

Okay so this is what happened. We were done eating and generally done with the stuff that we were really supposed to do there, right? We decided to stop by Timezone to sort of wrap up all the activities and to sing our hearts away. But then all the KTV rooms were occupied that time so we decided to try their dance revolution thing first. Someone was dancing when we came so we waited. After a while, people were running towards our direction. And I was like, what's up? Then we sort of ignored that and then more people came in running. Then I asked someone from that running crowd and she said that there are people shooting each other outside. And I was like, what the actual hell?

I actually thought that there was just something that sparked or something. But you know, to be in that situation while it's happening is really effed up. I was legitly scared and worried for our lives. There were a lot of what ifs and stuff. I was with my sister that time and for some reason, I feel like whatever happens to her would instantly be my fault and stuff so yeah I was worried in general. Not only for her but for everyone. I was even worried for the people who were walking outside because I feel like they weren't informed or something.

Can I just say that when the first shot was fired, we were all in yeah? But then my cousin and best friend went out to check what's happening and I was like, what are these two doing? Like, why???? And then they were spectating and talking to people and then the shoot! People were running again. I'm just glad they were able to run in. They closed the door for safety and yeah that all happened. It was crazy!!

More Community.

More Community.
These are just pictures from our latest community trip which I've learned a lot from. Like, not directly. But you know, sometimes, we have to really reflect and see things differently for us to actually learn. It's not always like in the uni or school or any learning institutes you know. We learn from our own experiences too.

Unlike before, this community trip is actually sponsored and so we were able to rent buses and all that for the trip. If you can remember, we actually just rented a jeepney on our first field work.

Another picture before actually setting off.

This is how the community looks like. I guess we were lucky because it didn't rain and all that and with the existing condition of the community, I think we wouldn't actually like the rain very much.

For some reason, we were really happy LOL. Say hi to my partner.

A picture of me inside the maze like path that our preceptor was talking about prior to the deployment. It was really really dark and I can't imagine how people live their lives there but it was fun. Like, fun learning experience.

Say hi to my Korean friend slash co-intern. :))

Me interviewing a family in action! :)

Finalizing the work.

Happy because we finished work earlier than last time. :))

Call Center experience. Not so good.

Call Center experience. Not so good.

Call center is an in demand job in the Philippines. It is hard at first but you will get used to it the next day. That fast! Who will not be able to learn that fast when you will make a hundred or more calls a day right? You'll do good.

I have been there only for a month but it gave me the experience of a lifetime. HEAVY! I met people who are nice,  funny and friendly along the way. I met great trainers, team leaders and supervisors who are always there to check what is happening and sometimes the only motivation I have to continue calling. My friends would know why. Hahaha

My company is somehow great in a sense that we do not do hard selling. Only 3 rebuttals and if the client doesn’t agree with that, we will hang up and dispose the call. Hard to explain but yeah that is how it goes. Sometimes I do not stick with 3 though. Sorry.

I am an outbound caller therefore I got to have something that will make the client stay on the line without them thinking that I am gonna sell them something. Well, I am not actually selling them something, I just want to know if they are diabetic or if there is anybody in their household who is before I try to deal with their insurances which then will cover the cost for them and that is if they are indeed eligible for the campaign that our organization (also part of the company) is representing. Our company is offering a talking glucose meter (glucometer) by the way. No, I’m not even selling you something here. Hahaha. Like any other outbound call centers, we do have quotas as well. Not that hard to achieve but you gotta work hard for it. We do have eliminations and it happens every week. Agents who were not able to reach for the quota will be eliminated. No, terminated. And just like what one of supervisor said, If the job is for you, it’s for you.

There you have it. A small view of my work experience as a call center agent. Thank you for reading. Have a nice day.
