MTLEX! :)

March 25, 2013 0
MTLEX! :)

I want to congratulate all of my friends who passed the MTLEX. My UST, MCU, and JRMMC colleagues, I know some of you have been complaining how the result is two days late but hey, you guys passed and I'm sure it's worth all the wait. It really makes me proud of you guys. I know you've all worked so hard and sacrificed a lot for this. Well except those who didn't really study because they're flawlessly intelligent. Or lucky. Well the good thing is, you're all an RMT now and that's just awesome. MD na next! :) I remember one of my friends turned down my "Hey! Let's watch Les Mis." offer. Oh well. And most of them were really out of sight during their review. Can I do that? To be honest, I felt a little amount of pressure. But whatever.

I just want to take this opportunity to CONGRATULATE my co-intern/post mate/ice cream mate/friend for making it to the top 10 list of the MTLEX passers.

I feel like a proud mama.

It's gonna be our turn this coming September or August is it? And hopefully we'd be able to celebrate just as much as you guys did.

To those who didn't pass, it's not the end of everything. People know that the exam is hard that's why they allowed medical technologist to take the exam 3 times max before the refresher course. And I don't think there's anyone who's so complacent about the MTLEX result. Almost everyone I know is like, waiting. If you didn't make it this time, you have time to improve! Time to ace! It's really not the same for everyone. Maybe you didn't study enough. Maybe you just studied the wrong thing (which I always do) or maybe it's not yet for you. But it's okay. Don't lose hope. My father once told me that if you see even just a little hope, work on that hope, and you'll succeed.

And to inspire us all, here are some of the snippets our new MEDICAL TECHNOLOGISTS have to say.
  • I love my mama and my dad so much and I know that this new achievement of mine is for them, i give it back to them for being the most dedicated and the most hardworking parents that I know.
  • I'm a success today because I have friends and family who believed in me and I didn't have the heart to let them down.
  • Thank God for all the Glory. Tsaka sa MCU, MCU friends, ACTS at sa lahat ng nakatulong :) So happy :)
Well if I would be ranked TOP 5, I would be happy too. Haha that's all guys! Again, congratulations RMTs. :) Good job! Good vibes.

Grand Duty!

Grand Duty!
Here it is! This is like, a preview on what happened awhile ago. I did block off the day but I wasn't sure whether or not to go until this morning. I was actually waiting for my friend's decision because I said that if she go, I go. I don't know but for some reason, I speak The Script at random moments. Anyways. She didn't go but I did.

With a friend and the friend I was talking about. The plan (evil) was actually to take sooooo many pictures to annoy and envy this friend of ours who weren't able to come because she said not to take too much pictures. Hahaha

We saw the effort of the organizers and all that so we helped with the stuff we will be using for the games.

Them doing the ever classic Calamansi Relay. By the way let me just say that I have a love and hate relationship with this iPhone camera feature called HDR. I don't know what it is but basically it kind of lightens the picture so basing from what's actually happening when it's on, it's probably that.

And food! And Madame President on the other side.

I know not all people want to see food photos. I actually sometimes don't want to see people taking pictures of it as well but let's just have it our own way and be happy :) What's that again? Haha

A picture with a friend who we left behind there. I actually planned to take pictures with everyone but some of them left ahead so I wasn't able to but yeah. I'll probably show you guys more photos if I see them up somewhere. Haha

Thesis It!

Thesis It!
Finally done with Thesis Oral Defense! Yay! It was a long time coming. The deadline was supposed to be on the last week of January and then it was moved to the second week of February and then boom! We had our Final Defense yesterday. Which I would consider a success!

Still not done with paper works which will take about a day or two still but so far, so good. I mean, the Oral Defense is what most groups fear so since we've already finished that, it's like, wow! We're done. The picture above shows my group, our adviser, and our panellists right after the Oral Defense.

EFFORT! Like, some gave more than the others but the point is, I know in my heart that we all worked hard for this THESIS and yeah, congratulations to all of us. ONE STEP CLOSER, indeed.

It's kind of sad that it's done but at the same time, it's like a very fulfilling task to be done so whatever. Thank you group mates! It was such an experience working with all of you. I mean, some. Nah, just kidding. Haha

Time to do the paper works! :))

For SCIENCE and <3

For SCIENCE and <3
After our surveys and all that, we found out that Tuberculosis is the primary concern in the community that we're in. With that being said, we focused on the problem.

We conducted a seminar, had games, had fun, gave free food, and all that stuff. I guess it's really very helpful for the community since according to the survey we conducted last time, most of them are not able to finish school so it's not everyday that someone like our speaker would come to their community and inform them about their number 1 concern when it comes to health.

Us hearing our leader's explanation. Me playing the role of kunwaring nakikinig. Chika lang. Haha

We invited an alumni as a speaker of the said event. We, students, actually listened more to the lecture than the stake holders. Quite an awesome lecture.

F na F! The guys should actually have their dance number but since they're too shy to dance, these little kiddos did the thing for them.

And then us, the food committee did our thing. We distributed packed lunch to the people who attended our seminar and all that thing that happened. I don't know if my group mates feel the same way or whatever but I really feel thankful for this experience. Thankful that I get to talk to people who I probably wouldn't have a chance to talk with if not for this activity.  I'm not a people person. I might consider being a PATHOLOGIST.

Anyways, thank you UST for having a program like this. I mean, even though it can really be so tiring, at the end of the day, you can always give it a rest. But you can't take away the experience. Thank you Mr. Tiu and Mr. Raymundo for the pictures! :) I owe these pictures to you guys.

Pharmacy Weeks. A Look Back.

Pharmacy Weeks. A Look Back.
Thanks to my college friends for the pictures. They probably wouldn't know that I stole their pictures but thanks! :)) I owe it to you guys.

Pharmacy week is celebrated annually and we actually don't have a choice but to participate. Well, most of the time. So here are some pictures I could share with you guys. Enjoy! :)

Well this is like, a last minute chore for us to do and well made an effort in doing that diamond thing above our heads.

And as for our family picture...

And then the next year, this happened.

Made a giant hand to actually be able to portray certain stuff.

Made a giant counting chamber and giant microscope. Also, some giant red cells!

Also made a giant syringe. Haha

That's all! I miss everyone.

From Duty Wonders.

From Duty Wonders.

This is when we actually shoot our group presentation for like the seminar intermission thingy. My co-intern was like fixing my hair and all that.

I would just like to share some pictures from like, a month or two ago of our group. Like, we literally had the energy still. Energy to take pictures and all that. Actually, a friend who is an intern from our neighboring hospital actually randomly visited and then lucky for us, we asked her to take these pictures. Oh well.

My pimple is like ugh. This picture is like all about my pimple. Oh well.

Looking at it, I don't know about you but I am feeling like I'm ready to sing A Whole New World any moment. Hahaha feeling like a princess! Minsan minsan lang naman 'to kaya okay lang haha.

One thing I want to share with you (even though I share a lot of things) is sometimes, you have to praise yourself. Like, for a job well done. On how you look, and stuff. It's always nice to give yourself a little feedback. Yeah? Yeah. Haha palusot lang.

Random Ramblings. Random.

December 08, 2012 0
Random Ramblings. Random.

I just don't know how to stress this enough but I really think that it all starts from within. I mean, we should always start with ourselves first before we become relevant to others.

And this happened..

The other day, a senior-senior staff kind of randomly said that we should love ourselves first before we could serve. And this is in line with when I kind of opened up to her that in our first in, we were not allowed to extract blood as much as we are free to do so in our second in and that's how the conversation started.

She asked why the chief med tech in that laboratory (which I assume is her friend 'coz she mentioned the name even if I didn't tell) so scared. Like, so what if someone got pricked or whatever? Not everyone would get pricked. It's not the same for everyone. And she said that if we'll be going thru the same thing, we should recover from it. Prove that we're not all about that. Or we'll be known as the one who failed forever. And we don't want that, aye?

"If you fall, don't just stay on the ground. Stand up."

And I approve. You know. People might actually remember us from our failures and all that but there will be people who will remember us for our achievements. And let's just start from within. I mean, we don't have to please so many people anyways. Probably just ourselves. I bet it'll feel real good to see ourselves with the things we wanted to achieve. Like, even if we failed, we tried, and succeeded. That's a legit pattern right there.

So yeah. We should always see things as challenge and that we should always find a way to do it. Probably not right away. Like, eventually. I don't approve of doing things blindly. Like, think first before doing things. And then go. If it doesn't work, think again and then go. You know. It goes on. Just don't give up.

One Step Closer.

November 29, 2012 1
One Step Closer.
I don't know if I'm really just being obsessed with anything related to Breaking Dawn or what but recently, everything is just so relevant. I can't even. It's actually a very long and complicated process that we have been through. Like, falling in line here and there just to get this graduation picture over with. Like, seriously.

So I would like to share with you some of the pictures I took whilst I was there. How nice of me right? LOL.

So let's just go back to my story first. So my friends and I are actually scheduled at 2-3 pm. We are actually 3 in the group and one of them arrived at 11 am and still didn't make it to the photo booth early because even though she arrived earlier than the scheduled time, there are others who arrived earlier. Which I actually find unfair. They should have just followed the time they reserved for a certain student so we will all somehow finish on time.

WHAT A SYSTEM. When I came at around 1, I queued for make up and stuff and all that and yeah, after maybe 2 hours, I got called and voila! PICTURE TIME.

Some of my SELCAs because the official thingy is taking a long time to happen. Some I even took in the bathroom because the background there is pink. LOL.

So here it is. Like, it's been a long time coming. Like, somehow. I don't know but I just feel like it. And I believe I deserve it. Somehow people really deserve the things they want in life. Even though how hard it is to achieve. Oh well. That's actually another story but since it's completely relevant and similar to what we are talking about, let it be.

The shooting time itself is quite fast though. Like shot, shot, shot, shot, shot, and done. Just like that. So I don't understand why the system is so slow like that.

I have a friend who came at 8 and finished at 3. Like, seriously? Are we having a little photo shoot for a magazine here or what?  But I don't want to complain too much anymore.

Their make up artists are actually nice and all that . So good vibes. Also, their staffs are very accommodating. So yeah, forgiven. Okay let's go back to my GRADUATION STORY. Like, in less than five months, I'm already graduating with my first college degree. Awesome! :D Can't wait, really. Today is also very nice because for the whatever time I waited there, I am mostly with my friends so it's also like a get together of some sort. My friends and I are on different hospitals so it's always nice to catch up and all that.

Moving on... As early as now, I want to thank my parents for supporting and believing in me. I want to thank my sisters, brother, friends, cousins, and classmates for staying beside me and always cheering me on. I  probably wouldn't be able to make it without them. Thank you guys. This meaningful event of my life will be dedicated to all of you.

We're ONE STEP CLOSER.

Tag Answers. :)

Tag Answers. :)
I've been tagged by the fab Pink Mommy, and here are my answers to the questions.

1. Do you wear makeup everyday?

- Nope. I don't actually wear make up that much. Not full make up at least. On normal days, I would wear concealer on some concealable flaws and stuff and I would just put powder to kind of set it. But when I'm running late, got no time for that. Just my tinted lip balm and I'm good to go.

2. Most favorite makeup product (only 1)

- I would say concealer. Thank goodness I am not a smoker so my lips are kind of okay without tinted lip balm but that would be my second. Ha! See what I did there? LOL.

3. iPhone or BB (blackberry)?

-  iPhone! I actually thought of buying Blackberry before I bought my very first iPhone but yeah I don't know what happened. No regrets!

4. Favorite body products?

- Since I'm not a morning person and I usually wake up late and got not much to prepare everyday, I got no time to put on stuff on my body but when I do, I just spray with my Victoria's Secret Body Mist. As much as I would like to apply lotion, it actually troubles me that it'll take time to dry and that I can't put on my uniform right away. On off days though, or which I would like to call the "MOISTURE DAY", I actually bother to put on lotion, lip balm, hair mask, face mask, and stuff. Okay this second paragraph is actually irrelevant. LOL.

5. Favorite perfume/cologne?

-  Victoria's Secret scents are really my type. As of now, I'm finishing this. As you can see, I'm running very low of this. Might last me a month or two. I think. Or three.

6. Where do you usually hangout?

- At home. Internship is really exhausting and really sucking the energy out of me so I would just stay home to kind of replenish and stuff.

7. Boyfriend/Girlfriend vs. Bestfriends?

- I have a picture to explain.

8. What/Who are you for the next 5 years?

- A better version of me. Hopefully was able to go to Paris at least.

I actually don't know much about what will happen to me or who will I become by then. Ugh, life. Hopefully I'd be a practicing Medical Technologist by then too. And doing other stuff as well.

9. MAC or Nars

- I actually don't own any NARS and I don't like M.A.C all that much so I don't know.

10. Moisturizer or toner?

- Toner! :) My skin is actually oily so it kind of have its natural moisture already so I don't want to interfere so that might bring back my very bad bad skin again. I actually used moisturizer before and it kind of broke me out. I should have used a moisturizer that's specifically for oily skin though. But whatever. I know it's very important to moisturize but whatever. Will do that soon! Once my skin is full healed.

11. Eyeliner or mascara?

- Mascara. For some reason, well...I actually used to wear eyeliner a lot way back high school but I didn't realize how odd it looked on me. Well not odd. Probably "inappropriate" since I was in high school that time. So yeah. If not for the trouble of removing mascara, I would probably wear it everyday since my lashes are actually short and boring.
