Takarajima Yakiniku Buffet Review

December 20, 2015 0
Takarajima Yakiniku Buffet Review

It was a "let's eat anywhere" kind of day when we decided to eat here. Also! Partially because I've been craving for meat the whole week or two that time.

I've heard this place thru a friend but I haven't really gotten to eat so thankfully I was able to with Bry. They have quite a lot of options for the buffet. We got the middle option and it was worth it.

It's a typical yakiniku set-up. The meat they will be bringing though varies. Like, they do have this screen that has the options of the meat included in your package as well as other options you could choose from.

I tried to help. But all I did is wait for the meat to cook and eat. Also, order some more meat from the menu. Hahaha

That sirloin on the grill was my favorite piece that night. The pork wieners are good too! Actually, everything.

I really tried to help but I was denied. Hahaha thanks for grilling Bry.

Also, very unpractical that I wanted to eat Stone Grilled Bibimbap. I know I came for meat but that's just me and my untimely cravings. It was delicious by the way. Also, besides this, I ordered a bowl of white rice. I'm Asian, don't judge me.

The culprits! At this point, we were already really really full but I was like, dessert! And so we did. I tried to get all three options but the milk crepe cake something is not available anymore so meh.

Although petite, it was delicious! :) All in all I would really recommend this place for huge meat eaters like us and it will surely do it for you.

Nagahama Ramen Review

Nagahama Ramen Review

There are quite a lot of ramen places in Japan. It's Japan so it's given that all their ramen places are better than everywhere else in the world. However, the competition is still up in Japan.

This ramen place is one competitive player. I've learned about this place thru a co-worker and hella thankful they did tell me about this. Speaking of competition, they do have a challenge here where you can win a shirt and a place where you can brag on the wall. The challenge is you have to finish 7 servings of noodles. I don't know if I can do it (no) but it's not impossible because they don't have much place left on their walls. Go Bry! ;)

Ramen places here in Japan especially in the city are mostly modernized but this one is like still semi-vintage. And for some reason, I still like this kind of set-up where you still see the workers manually doing their thing.

My Ramen Buddy

Ramen buddy who's always craving for this ramen. Even joked that he'd go alone when I'm gone. I say joked because this place is more than 3 hours away from him. Hahaha

Mine is on the left and Bry's on the right. He always get their big serving and for some reason, we finish at the same time. I don't think I eat slow. He's just so fast.

Also, we discovered another favorite of ours. Chahan. So yeah. Win-win. In fairness the ramen here is really really tasty. As in tasty. Must have been their meat concoction that they put in the broth. If you can, do try out Nagahama Ramen. You won't regret it. Ciao!

Have a Break They Say.

Have a Break They Say.
Hi guys! I have made it clear that examination days are over and I just want to share these pictures because they somehow helped me relax, study, or whatever. It helped me relax the most part. I figured that in my case, it's pretty hard to study anywhere. So if I wouldn't try, I wouldn't be able to and I'm just happy that when I tried to, it helped me relax at least. You know, maybe MED is not for me. Or maybe it is. I don't know.

Whole Meal
BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE
I didn't really like the cheesecake and yeah I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone but the drink was kind of a delight so definitely try that one out.

I like how there's actually no one in my side of the shop but later on people came already and yeah.

CHATIME
Delish! But then my cousin was deceived by the lady to add on some stuff and the bad part is that she decided to put those in my drink. Well I used to really like coffee jelly well in fact that's probably like my fave Starbucks drink but for some reason, I just like it if it's Starbucks. It's kind of weird but anyways.

COUSIN
And by the way we ordered Shawarma from somewhere because we didn't expect them to have some food available and yeah.

COOL
For some reason, I think the drink we ordered doesn't go well with anything so yeah. I suggest you order it on its own. Okay so that was that and then I went again on a different day and yeah.

COZY
FRIES AND CHOCO DRINK

I ordered the same drink as before and ordered fries with it. The fries I don't know how to feel about it but it's kind of good but at some point, it taste bland or something so I should probably give that another try and confirm. That's all of it guys! See you soon!

Some Good Tea @ Affinitea

Some Good Tea @ Affinitea
WALL OF GOOD VIBES
I haven't seen this anywhere else yet so I'm assuming that this branch is the only branch. In case you're wondering, Affinitea is somehow near San Sebastian College in Manila. The last time I attempted to try something in this place, it was full so I just went to Chill Out which is literally beside this place. We were supposed to do the same thing but then my cousin noticed the place is empty so we went in right away. MUST BRING POST ITS NEXT TIME.

GOOD STUFF
This is probably the first time my cousin didn't get Caramel Milk Tea. She ordered some honey tea stuff and she didn't like it that much. I guess she's just used to the taste of Caramel Milk Tea that's why she didn't enjoy it. She also said that the bubbles are harder than the usual. BUT I LOVED MINE. Mine is the shorter cup by the way and I ordered some cocoa stuff with rock salt and cheese. The lady was also kind enough to ask me if I want my drink uncovered. I said yes of course. It's easier to mix and savor the drink that way anyways.

It's a relatively big place for a tea shop and it's really nice although I wouldn't say that the place is very ideal to stay at which is typical for tea places by the way. For some reason, it's too noisy inside. I'm not complaining of course. I'm just saying. Can I just say that the staffs were really nice. But still noisy.

MYSELF AND MY COUSIN
Just a side note, we were actually from PRC before we went here. Thanks to MY COUSIN for accompanying me and falling in line for me and stuff like that. If not for her, I wouldn't finish the whole examination application process a little bit earlier. So thank you! :) Can I just say that I was a little bit irritated by that one lady at the processing window because she was like doing hand movements and I was like, what the eff is happening here? And then when I asked her to repeat what she have just said, she was like irritated that I didn't here it the first time. WHAT? WOMAN, YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING SO DON'T YOU DARE ACT LIKE THAT. It's pretty ironic that we have people like that inside the PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION. But I'm good now.

THE AWESOME COUSIN

Tea Time with Cathy and Mikie

June 30, 2013 1
Tea Time with Cathy and Mikie
I truly believe this should be a legit segment on my blog. But sometimes, I get disappointed by teas so I don't get inspired to continue with that kind of posts but now, I think that no matter how much I loathe (big word) the teas that I've tried, I must share it with you. That's all! Let's go!!

Okay this one we tried because we don't have a choice. I guess we just wanted to have a tea and somehow rest our feet from our tiring UST trip. So that happened. Anyways. I kind of regret we didn't drink at ChaTime because wala lang. Anyways.

I actually didn't enjoy the tea but the taste is actually interesting. I actually  don't remember it's exact flavor but if I can remember it right, it's something like green tea yogurt. Or some macha yogurt. Okay I've checked it now. It's Yogurt Green Tea. I kind of regret picking that flavor because firstly, I wasn't able to taste the green tea. Secondly, I wasn't able to taste the yogurt. That's just sad you know. Oh and despite choosing the normal level of sweetness, thirdly, I wasn't able to taste the sugar. I was able to taste my cousin's drink and it was actually alright.

For some reason, my cousin always picks the safe flavor so good for her. Not always, but I like experimenting with flavors.

So next up! This happened probably two days ago, just after my review class. I was like, okay maybe I need to chillax a little bit. So I asked my cousin to go with me and find a place to kind of settle down and just be a potato for a while.

But that didn't happen. Instead, I asked my cousin to help me write stuff so yeah. But she was like, texting half the time. Boo. LOL. Anyways, we went to a place called Gong Cha by the way. In Cubao.

Okay so I got Salted Caramel Tea or is that even the flavor of it? But something close if not that. It was alright. I mean, nothing like Happy Lemon but yeah. It's a little more expensive than Happy Lemon stuff so that makes it a little disappointing.

My cousin's drink is Caramel Tea which was okay. As usual. Oh well. Can't wait to try more teas! :) Good vibes!

Us Being Pigs | Yakimix 2.0

Us Being Pigs | Yakimix 2.0
I know I told you that this would come right after this blog post but I don't know why I felt like doing a review on CL's new music video. Anyhow. This is really unexpected, you guys. Had I known that we're gonna eat there, I wouldn't have had breakfast. So the branch we went to is at SM North Edsa which I surely didn't see before but my cousin told me she saw it and stuff so yeah. I actually had experience eating here before and I enjoyed it and I thought I wanted to share that experience with my cousin so we went.

We probably took all the prawns in this particular tray because I remember telling my cousin how I am craving for it and that I wanted to go to Yakimix just because of that. But at the end, we thought that it's not really a brilliant idea since it took time for us to open the shell and eat the thing. It's only bad because we only have a limited time to eat. Somehow.

I think we were able to try at least 90% of the raw food because the food that I didn't get on my plate was on my cousin's and we actually share the things we get. Not so much on the cooked food because I feel like we can have it somewhere else. I think. And when I asked my cousin to get us the cooked food, she was like, "never mind".

One piece of advice I could give you is to probably go light with your meats. SEAFOOD ALL THE WAY! Can I just say that I'm pretty sure we swept away that rolls with veggies as well.

Our first plate! My cousin was the one doing the grilling and when I was turning the food, and like tossing them like frying stuff, she was like, don't do that! The spicy stuff would mix with the normal ones and I was like, AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT! Because whatever you do, that thing would happen. Don't even bother segregating.

Okay I have a kwento. Our friend Diana is supposed to join us but she can't make it unless it's like a holiday, dinner, or weekends. And the thing is the fee is kind of different in all those situations so I was like, we can't probably make it all together. Here's the deal. The buffet fee is 520 php on weekdays except holidays and higher on weekends and holidays of course and then when it's dinner, weekends, or holidays, you have to pay an extra to avail their all-you-can-drink promo so it's really better if it's lunch, non-holiday, and weekday. Hooray!

Cousin's face! LOL. She's like talking to the stuff on her plate and it's as if she's telling them something like, "just be patient." Okay I'll stop. LOL.

HEAVEN ON EARTH
I also have a kwento on this. My cousin's in charge of the grilling, right? I was then the one taking food for us and she was like, SUSHI! And then when I was getting stuff from this boat, the guy standing there was literally making me feel like I'm getting too much. Not in a bad way or something but he was like asking the chef to make more of the sushi I'm getting while I'm getting it. Oh well. I probably got 4 of each kind so we could have 2 each.

As much as I loved their desert, I was a little bit disappointed because the way they displayed it on the mini bar thing isn't as sophisticated as the one in Robinson's but anyways. The Blueberry Cheesecake is probably my favorite. Which is not on the picture by the way.
