Is Death Penalty the Answer?

September 27, 2014 0
Is Death Penalty the Answer?

It's a good thought but I would agree better if it's negated. Anyways, there's been a lot of fuzz and bad news circulating about The Philippines.

I've read an article saying that Senator Sotto "reiterated" his call for the reimplementation of death penalty in the Philippines. I didn't know it was a thing. See, I think that's one of the things that is lacking in our government (I think). It seems like it only acts when it's already too late. But you see, not too late to save thousands of lives in the future.

Do I agree on this?? BIG FAT YES!! Now he's saying that it's not like the suspect's gonna be sentenced the next day or something but I say that's debatable!! Not all crimes can't be solved overnight, right! But what if someone's caught in the act? Well before that, let me just enumerate the crimes that I think deserve to be punished by death.

RAPE. DRUG ABUSE. MURDER.

Murder though, if not admitted or like caught in the act can be a little hard to prove. There would be questions like, what if he/she is just a victim? I don't know. What I do know is that when caught in the act, or even if he/she admitted it, no more questions! Death should be punishable by death. Now most of you are probably saying that we shouldn't play God or whatever well tell that to the killer! Can I just say that while writing this, it seems like it's too familiar. I don't know if I have already blogged about this or I probably wrote about this on my high school or college paper. Anyways. It's always nice to reiterate. Yeah?

Rape is easier to prove I guess. If a woman is violated, most of the time, it's identifiable. It leaves quite some trace. Blood, sperm, or like anything. When is rape a rape though? I personally believe that it is rape when permission is not given. So women should also be vocal about things. Like it may seem like they're not into it but doesn't make it clear and stuff, it doesn't work that way. If you don't want it, say you don't want it. If they insist, rape! And that's like in a social situation. With friends and aquaintances. If like forced by a stranger into it with like violence and stuff, it's definitely rape. Like STFU. If you pull a girl out of nowhere and do something sexual without her consent, rape! You get it, right?

Drug use/abuse is no doubt quite traceable. Test that mothereffer's urine/hair/blood and then voila!! Also, ask where he/she got it then done!! Well, to be fair though, some people want to try drugs perhaps. Okay. I think it's not fair to kill some curious cats in this case. Maybe death on third offense?

I don't know why I'm playing like a law maker here lol it's not that this would be the new rule but I'm just saying that I have a say on this and I'm not gonna shut up even though I know it wouldn't change a thing. I just hope people would be able to see this and think for themselves. That's all. See yah!

February So Far

February 13, 2014 0
February So Far
Hola guys! I just want to share/take note of how my February have been. This is so far a very chillax month but at the same time it's kind of eventful as well. Ang gulo lang. Anyways. Uhm chillax events nalang.

First, at the very first day of the month, I saw this. It's kind of sad to say goodbye to a friend but things really have to happen the way it happened. I'm happy because I know it's for the better. Let me just tell you about her. We came in to work together and we really clicked so I don't know I will really miss her. I was moved when I saw the note because I kind of saw her writing that but I didn't think she would write my name because we were on duty on her last day of duty and the thing is we never really said goodbye probably. Pulled a Life of Pi tiger moment there huh? But yeah I would have probably be emotional and stuff so yeah. Oh well.

Second picture happened on a Sunday. Well I don't really believe in luck alone but I was pretty impressed with these horses so I had to take a picture. This is also the time where I had to buy stuff to bring with me to Japan. Can I just talk about Horoscopes? There were so many boards there with horoscopes and stuff and my cousin was really interested in reading, right? I was like, wait a second! I noticed they said nice things to all horoscope and I was like, really now? But you know, those are nice guides for people but if you're just gonna let that happen on its own, na-uh!

the sun is setting

Lastly, pictures of the sky. I don't remember how to the sky looks is Japan but I will surely miss my view here. Sad. Hopefully it's better there though.  Just a side note, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW. Anyways, just like most of my Birthdays, I don't really get too excited. I think of it as a special day but no need for a huge celebration or anything like that. Will blog about my feelings if I feel like it tomorrow. Ciao! :)

The Falls in Our Stars | Tanay Falls

The Falls in Our Stars | Tanay Falls

Hello guys! I've been meaning to blog this for a while but just looking at the pictures make me lazy because there's just too much to share! Anyway, one fine Sunday, my cousin and I went to Tanay Rizal because I heard my co-workers talk about the place so yeah I was curious, told my cousin about it, and went.

Don't call us greedy though! We tried to invite friends but they weren't up for it. Anyways. This blog would be mostly pictures of the wonderful nature and stuff so enjoy! But I would still make kwento of course. Bummer, right? LOL. So we left at like 6 ish and arrived there probably a little past 8:30 and yeah it was a long long long time of commuting but it was worth it! Like, if I could, I would go back and spent another day there. So when we arrived at our destination, this happened.

just hangin' out
cousin

We were like so amazed by the clear water that runs thru this whatever and yeah we took quite a lot of pictures there for some reason. I actually thought that this would be where the falls would be at and stuff but yeah clearly wrong. We were also amazed by the rock balancing thing they have going on.

to the falls!
beautiful
So yeah there are quite a lot of spots there like that of above. Although stunning, not good enough to swim so we just took photos of that and moved on.

DARANAK FALLS
So nice! I actually searched for online reviews from blogs and stuff so I had enough dosage of pictures but seeing it in person is just different. It doesn't look any different but you know, pictures cannot give justice to the actual falls itself I think.

The life guard was so nice to take quite a lot of pictures of my cousin and I and so yeah I find that the loneliest thing about travelling alone or like with just someone is that it's gonna be hard to like take pictures and stuff so yeah. Actually that's the only problem.

We actually went to two different falls. The pictures above are from Daranak Falls and below would be pictures from Batlag Falls. I don't know but I found too many blogs that say that they only charge 10 pesos for Batlag but we were charged 100 pesos each. I don't know when that change took place but yeah as of this writing, it's 100 bucks per person. But no regrets!! It was worth every peso. So yeah we had to walk quite a long way to get to the other falls.

scary
cousin waiting for me (apparently)
Batlag Falls

The difference between these two falls is that Batlag seems to be more private than Daranak. I was kind of against the idea of it before we payed the fee because I was thinking that this shouldn't be like being payed for because it was somehow nature's gift and stuff and that we should be enjoying this for free but yeah whatever. It was actually nice and the fee kind of really made it private which means we shared the water with lesser people and stuff so yeah I think we were able to maximize the place at least.

Can I just share that the water was super cold! Almost ice cold. The tri-bike guy actually told us beforehand that the water would be cold and that the reason that this place is only crowded during the summer (March - June) is that the water is cold during the time we visited so yeah but there were still a good number of people in. Anyways.

I like this shot
just keep swimming
We also encountered some good souls in Batlag and thank goodness took pictures of us and stuff and yeah though there's a story I am still thinking whether to share, it's overall a good experience in this falls.

As for the swimming experience, besides the cold water, I think what makes swimming not ideal is the rocky floor and if you're not careful, you might get sliced open. I had some cuts but yeah nothing too major.

picture!

Also quite difference is that you can't actually sit like this on Daranak because the water is deeper where the falls are in Daranak and in Batlag, there's this rock where you can sit on and stuff. So yeah.

another picture of us yay

When we went back to Daranak, there were a lot of people already. We actually just returned to say thanks to the life guard who watched over our bags. Well the story is that you can't actually just place your bags anywhere but at some selected spots but he said that since there's only two of us, he would allow us and just look after it.

So yeah I recomment you guys visit this place and just have fun. It's a nice place to celebrate nature and have a little swim and yeah it was such a memorable experience and I can't wait to be back! Will definitely revisit.

If I could, I would.

January 10, 2014 1
If I could, I would.

I would be lying if I say that I haven't thought of this before. Because I did. Well, let's say a couple of times now. Feeding program is what I always thought of but I kind of debated and left that alone. Because what will happen after the program? I don't think a malnourished individual will be okay after a meal. Anyways, I would really love to that still. I think sharing food with the community is great.
But really, what is it that I can give to the Philippines? As much as love, hope, and respect sound nice, Thesis told me not to choose a study that is not achievable at a certain period of time.

As a Medical Technologist, I have always known the importance of health. And how it can take away someone's life faster than a snap of a finger. So I trace back when it all went wrong for most of them. The first line of defense. Immunity. And yes, as lonely as it may sound, most people disregard that. So if given a chance, I would like to give what I would like to call the "immunity kit" to the kids and the elders. Because that's when the body's immunity is at its lowest point and therefore "evil sickness" would most likely take advantage.

Health is wealth. If you can't take that into account, let's just say at least not being sick is way better than being sick. Because at least everyone would have a peace of mind and stuff.

Children nowadays are not as healthy as children before. I guess the world became dirtier and pollution got worse. Also, the food children eat now are not the type that will give them nourishment. Gone are those days when you can inhale fresh air (at least in the metro) and so children and old people really need these to supplement what's lacking (a lot) and to protect them from everyday hazards. Harsh I know. But true.

I'm saying this because I know how hard it is for parents to see their children sick. How they loathe us Medical Technologist for extracting blood from their children just to check what now seems to be a protocol for all sick individuals. When in fact, most of the time, it can prevented.

My "immunity kit" would have multivitamins, anti-bacterial soaps, and alcohol. Pretty basic. But it would really make a difference. I mean, that's what will protect someone from all of these harmful germs initially. At least.

Immunity. You know, our first line of defense is our skin (naks immuno/sero) and we should take that seriously. We shouldn't let the culprit coming from our skin itself.

Why not have a program like that, yeah? I mean, wouldn't it be nice if we're sharing the love and not the germs? So yeah I hope I would be given a chance to put this plan into action and hopefully this country would be somehow a safer place to live in. There's a much bigger picture of the problem like pollution and stuff but let's just say that we shouldn't disregard what we can do to solve the smaller ones first. How about you? What will you do to your country if you can do it? Comment below! Also, if you're a blogger, you might want to give this blog contest a go! Have a good day!! #GLOBEProjectWonderful2014

Goodbye Maring! See you never.

August 23, 2013 1
Goodbye Maring! See you never.
Two years ago, with this kind of weather, I would probably still be thanking the weather because that would mean that the good ol' UST wouldn't have any classes. But the situation is different now. But internship and review classes made me think otherwise. Don't get me wrong though! I still love the rain. But not like what have just happened. That's like five times of what I actually love and that doesn't go hand in hand. Anyways.

This flower is probably the most beautiful thing about this typhoon Maring. Such a survivor! :)

For some reason, my new digital camera decided to focus on the leaves instead of the flower itself. Way to go!

I really hate the flood! With all the diseases and other disgusting stuff it carries, it really freaks me out that kids like to actually swim and play like it's a pool or something. Please don't!

Little Mari wants to play
Luckily, it didn't actually rain that much today. Well actually, I was in the review center for quite a long time today so I actually don't know if it rained at all but for most of the time that I was out, Mr.Sun was very visible. And guess what people would complain about this time? HOT WEATHER. Life.

Bond of Blood | Mother's Day Celebration

Bond of Blood | Mother's Day Celebration
GRAYISH BAY

We actually decided to stop by because our reservation is at 6 pm and we kind of left the house earlier than we should be so I guess it's a WIN-WIN situation. What I think about the Manila Bay now, you ask? It's still hella dirty and I don't know whether or not it will be better than that but then again, it kind of improved its situation comparing it from the last time I visited.

The smell of the bay is still horrible and not suitable but again, I don't know if that's even what they have to deal with but with a clean bay, it would follow, yeah?

SOMEONE IS JUST FEELING IT
AI have to say though! That the barrier's definitely higher and I remember ranting about that here, I don't know whether they're reading my blog or maybe they're just as brilliant as I am or whatever. Kidding of course!

Here with my grandma and my two sisters

My first plate! I know this looks unappetizing right now but these are good! :) Anyways, that's all I have to share with you right now! Good vibes!

Shop Until You Drop

March 27, 2013 0
Shop Until You Drop
A few days ago, I went with my mom and cousin to sort of accompany/entertain a couple with their granddaughter that is far related to dad. We accompany the woman and the child to go shop for souvenirs they would be giving away to their family members and to some of their friends. If what we did isn't tiring, then I don't know what is. The woman was really picky and would really consider everything before buying stuff. Like, she would consider whether or not the item would fit the person or like if the item would match their style or whatnot. Also, when we were on that souvenir-souvenir stuff, the woman would actually ask questions like the history shizz. Because there were like mini figurines of like, the "katutubos". Unlike mom who would actually just pick random stuff and decide on the spot. LOL. So after that tiring shopping activity we had, we decided to have something to at least replenish our lost energy.

Banoffee Pie and Green Tea Pie! I love! I don't know exactly why we didn't eat something heavy because I was dang tired but yeah, dessert comes first! :)

We then went back to Pan Pacific to load off the shopping bags and all that. Haggard faces for the win! Since it rained really hard, the Luneta Park and Intramuros trip was cancelled and clearly, we don't have business to do there anymore (according to mom) we just decided to go back to the mall.

And then we went back to the mall to eat. LOL. We decided to try the new stuff from KFC which is not worth the hype, really. Not actually bad but it's just not.. I don't know.

All in all though, I enjoyed that day and I was really happy that we were able to accompany them here in the Philippines and I really enjoyed playing with MOMO chan. Such a sweetheart! :) That's all!

More Fun Indeed.

More Fun Indeed.

Lurve how well I blended with the flowers on the background. We actually just passed by here on our way to Manila Ocean Park.

Cousin carrying her heels and my umbrella. She was like, you can do it! And then took the umbrella with her. What a loving cousin she is.

What happened here? I don't know. And because of that, I would like to name this picture the "YOU DON'T DO THAT TO ME" picture. Thanks.

I know it's kind of hard to decipher but let's just appreciate this for a while. Considering it's free, we can't really complain about it. The first time I heard about this was at the PATHOLOGY OFFICE when one doctor recommended going here to another doctor because it's romantic and the doctor then said she would go. And passing along the other day, I was allured.

See? Look at that. I don't get why there's fire though. I don't know if it's part of the show or it's something mechanical and unavoidable. It's sometimes destructive in a sense.
