Seoul Day 1 | Museum/Bukchon

Seoul Day 1 | Museum/Bukchon

Hello, Korea!

It was hella cold. Okay, thank Sue Ramirez for the weather update and all that but Seoul in winter is cold as hell. Not that I would know but...you get the point. I actually packed a lot of warm clothes because I’m prepared like that. Haha! My first day in Seoul was wonderful! I got to explore the city like I did with my friend Pring before. It was as if I never left.

I first went to the hotel and rested there for a bit. Unpacked my stuff, settled, and may have napped a little bit. I actually booked the same hotel as before too!

Palace

After resting, I decided this is it. Time to explore! And I did. Oh me and my high heels girl! But whatever, you know! I planned to go to Bukchon Village first but on my way there, dropped by The National Folk Museum as well. It was awesome!

It was not as pretty as it was on Spring though. No flowers. But it gives it character. The emptiness.

Museum

I don’t even know.

Found this one while I’m finding my way to the village. Can’t relate.

Bukchon Village

They were having a little protest going on there. Basically, they’re trying to eliminate tourists going near their houses. I mean, I would probably do that too. I mean, silent tourists I don’t have a problem with but oh my gosh, the others I will happily kick in the butt you know what I mean?

The view from the top.

Hot Pancake. Yas. Sooo oily.

After that, went to a small place and ate Bibimbap because Korea. It was awesome! And a fun first day I should say. Annyeong~

I got SCAMMED in Seoul!

I got SCAMMED in Seoul!

So, please don’t panic guys. I’m not a hater or something. I am still a fan of South Korea. So...one thing I’ve noticed is that...they take advantage of your innocence. That wouldn’t happen in Japan. Or so I think of course. I’m sure there are some unfortunate  souls out there who have experienced the horror of this world (in Japan). As you would know, I went to South Korea with some friends and yeah, it’s unfortunate that this kind of thing happened. Coz I really like Korea.

First, we went to this market where you can exchange your old coins to goodies and yeah well there was this ONLY ONE stall that asked for the coin twice. Well, to be fair to that lady, I actually gave the coin, asked for the food, and then she asked for the coin. It would be common sense not to ask for the coin again madaam.

Then! This! So we were 4 people splitting the bill, yeah? Each of us gave the exact amount needed for the meal but when the counter lady counted it, it’s missing 10,000 won. Not cool!! Again, we should have probably counted before reaching the counter but in our defense, we were supposed to pay bu credit card but since they don’t accept cards, we had to pull out cash all of a sudden. Oh my goodness. See, not cool, Seoul. Anyways, the cool part I’m about to share! I plan to do a day by day post so since I was there 5 days, expect 5 post about it. Yay!

My Soul Wants SEOUL.

My Soul Wants SEOUL.

So last May 2011,  I blogged about this on my WordPress blog account which I am not updating by the way. So I figured I want to blog about the top 5 things I would want to do in South Korea. Soon, I hope.

1. Just be in Seoul.

It may sound weird but I just want to feel how it feels to be in Seoul. Do you feel me? Like, you know how different it is to kind of watch a concert on TV and to actually watch it live, right? That kind of hunger. I want to feel Seoul.

Take pictures and stuff like that!

Namsan Tower, Teddy Bear Museum, Hello Kitty Cafe, Seoul Zoo, Han River, and all that stuff.

2. Visit Lotte World.

Since South Korea doesn't have a Disney Land, well, North Korea too I think but yeah. I guess Lotte World is actually the way to do it. Or EVERLAND, is it? But whatever. I think I want to go to Lotte World more.

3. Visit Bukchon Hanok Village.

Like, I've seen this village in movies, series, and all that stuff so I really want to see it myself.

4. Walk along Chonggyecheon Stream.

Like, it's so common of a place but whatever. I still want to go

5. Eat STREET FOODS.

Life, for reals. Everything. I want to try a little bit of everything and go back for more. Like, eating at some fancy restaurant wouldn't probably give me that Seoul vibes as much as eating along the streets of Seoul, right?
