Day 5 | Oppa Gangnam Style

November 30, 2019 0
Day 5 | Oppa Gangnam Style

Day 5 is Gangnam. It was actually my sister who planned this Gangnam trip. We agreed on going to the Starfield Library and The Buddhist temple nearby. The library was okay. Good for pictures! Also the only reason we went to be honest. Can’t be bothered reading books while on trip.

As I’ve mentioned earlier (Or did I?) This is a very nice place for pictures! Just be quiet though because people be legit studying/working here and you don’t want to annoy them with your touristy stuff. Also, my sister and I probably went up and down around 5 times (or more!) just to get decent shots. It’s crazy!

Lunch was actually delicious ! I don’t remember the name of the restaurant but this is a Japanese bento place I think. We got the Bulgogi premium box if I’m not mistaken. Of course I’m mistaken but yeah something like that.

The temple was very near the mall. Probably a 5-10 minute walk depending how slow you are. We be the 10 minute walker of course. It’s nice because even though Gangnam is a place where you can find tall buildings and stuff, they still have a place like this for worshipers. I like it.

The temple was a good end to our Gangnam trip. It’s just different. We missed a couple of items on our list but it’s okay. That’s all!

Shikimikie Chicken Adobo Recipe

Shikimikie Chicken Adobo Recipe

Chicken Adobo! The picture above is filleted part usually used for karaage but I also used drumstick and I think cooking a chicken part with bone rather than the filleted one is much better when it comes to the overall experience of eating adobo.

First, I sauteed the garlic with the chicken and red chili. If you don't like chili, you can obviously just skip that part. Then, I added equal parts of soy sauce and vinegar. The scary part. I usually don't like my adobo salty so I tend to put more vinegar than soy sauce. My kapampangan friend told me that the kapampangan style of cooking is that they only use the soy sauce for color and that adobo is actually supposed to be cooked with vinegar hence the adobong puti concept.

Added sugar because it was too salty. Japanese soy sauce is salty I guess.

let the vinegar cook

Also added boiled egg because, why would you do adobo without? I'm just saying. Yummy!

Ping's Christening!

Ping's Christening!

I wasn’t able to take a solo picture with Ping the day of the Christening so I’m just gonna recycle this one.

The Family

Let me tell you a funny story. So...my mom, who is in Japan actually told us to leave our place at 9 so that we could be able to accomodate traffic. So we did. We arrived there 10. Great. The celebration’s at 12:30 but that’s alright!  We started eating before the hosts even came. Barbaric, I know.

Food

I ate so much. I had like two full plates of the SNAIL. It was sooo good! Also enjoyed their kare-kare and everything else. I had so much vegetables as well!

The Giveaway

That’s it! Congratulations tita and tito! And well done, Ping!

Hong Kong Day 3 | My Disney Heart

Hong Kong Day 3 | My Disney Heart

A game changer. I didn't understand Hong Kong that much before I went here. Almost thought it isn't for me but on second thought, I WOULD go back to Hong Kong just for this one. And kind of many more! Surprisingly.

My new ears! I had to make sure everybody gets one! By everybody I mean my sisters. Genius shot or what?

So nice!

Also nice! Why don't they have this in TOKYO? I'm kind of sure they can do a better job there but hey! Not judging.

This is what I didn't like the most. Like, no go! If your Disney castle is broken, I think you shouldn't have the right to operate! You know what I mean? This should be a protocol!

Meeting my home girl Moana. So fun!

The whole place is aesthetically pleasing. Can't really complain about it. I wish the closing time be a little bit later though. Also the opening time a bit earlier. You know what I mean?

ANDY'S

Waiting for the parade!

YUMMY!

PRINCESSES

SOLDIERS

Turned out to be okay. I guess a little overpriced for its quality but overall okay.

MARI

MIKA. LILO SO PAYAT THOUGH!

The Garden. Turned out to be a very significant place we should have checked out though. MY TWIN SISTER TINKERBELL was there and I didn't even see her.

Nice

The closest to castle we can have. It's just a miniature but very photogenic so this will do.

If you think this is blurry, it's because I'm fluttering my wings. Yup! #faeriefantasy.

DINNER at Disney

SNACKS

This was closed. We should have checked this sooner!

With the limited time given by Disney, we should have been smarter in checking and skipping attractions. I mean, with longer hours, we could have enjoyed Disney more but I guess that's just how it goes.

Parade! Magical!

If you're visiting, I suggest you book thru KLOOK, and with the meal bundle! I mean, it was worth it! We were able to save so much by doing so. You get two full meals and a snack! How awesome can it be? If you're a fa of Disney, like me, you'll enjoy going here! I wish I had more time though. Or maybe we were just new and still trying to find stuff. I bet we will go through everything faster the next time we go!

Hong Kong Day 2 | Lost in HK

Hong Kong Day 2 | Lost in HK

Second day was our busiest day. Or so I think. We kind of put everything we want to see on the second day because we don't have any more time as we have Disneyland and Ocean Park for our coming days.

breakfast

We started here because it was conveniently near from where we live.

The park was a nice touch to our itinerary

I also made it a point to find our good old friend Bruce Lee's statue. It was hella hard to find from where we started. Also found some fun statues to take pictures with. Just look at my sisters being silly.

We went to Sham Shui Po to supposedly sample the handmade bamboo noodles but we found this. Also something Mark Wiens recommended. We were supposed to skip this but the gentleman we were sitting with asked we try and that's how we know this is the deal.

We were then headed to Mongkok riding a double decker bus. We were so happy that we completely disregarded our surroundings.

The next thing we know, we were already an hour and a half away from the city. Man, that was an adventure!

MONGKOK

YUMMY

Instagrammable.  I'm glad my local friends showed us around because our newbie selves cannot handle it.

We ended our night with this filling meal and this picture. That's all!
