Now I'm a Slytherin

Now I'm a Slytherin

For all of you who don't know, Pottermore kind of reinvented itself and comes that is a new sorting ceremony thingy where you can choose to keep your house or to actually be re-sorted. To be honest, I kind of forgot my former house already. I was very confused because I used to have two accounts. First was Slytherin (an account given to me) and Gryffindor (I got sorted to this). I think I actually identified myself a little bit to both already so I was just like, okay, one final sorting and I'm done. It turns out I'm a Slytherin afterall.

People change. I think that's what J.K. is trying to point out. A little bit too realistic if you ask me.

With my wand though, it's still the same. Wood and core! It's a little bit longer now though. I guess I would be able to do more magic with longer wand so I'm not mad.

Also, it's a possibility that I am just an exchange at Hogwarts. Ciao!

McDonald's Chocolate Fries

February 13, 2016 2
McDonald's Chocolate Fries

I actually tried this because I saw Kinoshita Yuka tried a lot of this fries and she liked it and I was like, would my opinion differ? Hahaha

Really really skeptical about this because I'm like, salty and sweet? I like salted caramel though but chocolate and fries? Mmm...

Basically, what you'd get is regular fries with that white and regular chocolate sauce thing that you squeeze and it would be like the picture below.

I sometimes like dipping my fries in my Chocolate Sundae but I like to dipping it in ketchup more. I honestly think eating fries on its own is better than this. Sorry. Although I could see that some people would really love this. I don't hate it though. I'm just not a fan of it. Ciao!

Cooking for the Fam!

Cooking for the Fam!

Now that lola's in heaven, it's my mom's duty to prepare food for everyone. Whilst I was there, I had an opportunity to do that as well.

CHICKEN CALDERETA

With instant packages available, it's actually a lot easier to prepare food nowadays. But you know, the ultimate goal is to know how to make things from scratch. Well I kinda know how to but execution is more difficult.

BEEF MECHADO

Can I just say that the beef took forever to become tender. After boiling it for an hour and a half, my mom was like, I can't really do anything about it so maybe I should stop there. And so I did. What are they feeding these cows anyways? I reckon RUBBER. It was actually good. Minus the beef haha.

Not all chunk was hard though. There were still some edible pieces. And guess who enjoyed the really rubberized cut? SHIKI (my dog) who was sick that time. We don't waste food at our house. We have plenty of dogs to even worry about left-overs.

CARBONARA

I liked the carbonara. Ciao! :)

Awake during Rhinoplasty

February 06, 2016 1
Awake during Rhinoplasty

Not for vanity. For correction. Although I consider it semi-vain because I had a surgery that resulted to what doctors would call acceptable but that's not the point. I know I'm not making any sense right now so let me just make it clear a lil bit. I had a cleft lip surgery way back when I was maybe 4 months old. I didn't have any follow-up surgery because my doctor made like all the surgery needed at once. I think. I wish I could show you pictures but I can't find one to share so...

SURGERY: It was an out-patient operation that started around 8am and ended 11am. My mom and I was there at around 7. The nurse handed me a consent form, filled that out, handed it back to the nurse, and the nurse already called me into the changing room to get dressed. So my mind was like not prepared because I thought I'd be with mama a little longer but anyways. I was actually consious during that time (as planned) and I know what's up. I believe that there are five people in the operating room. I was awake but I couldn't see because the doctor ordered a nurse to prep my face with povidine iodine and alcohol so after she did that, even though how hard I try, It's kind of difficult for me to open my eyes because some liquid dried in my lid or something. Anyways, inside that little room (according to my other senses) were two nurses, a medical intern, the surgeon, and myself. The doctor was actually very specific and would do things as discussed. First things first, anesthesia. Probably the worst part. And we begin. I remember feeling the pain at the beginning so I told him that and he was like, "more, more!" He told me that I shouldn't be feeling any pain so he kind of used up all that he prepared. I had gore-tex implant for my bridge and he harvested some cartilage at the back of my ears to enhance the tip of my nose. He was actually about to skip the ear cartilage part but after fitting in the implant several times and probably mending it because I hear him ask for knife each time IDK, he was like, "I do really need some cartilage." He then did his thing and got what he wanted. But before putting that, he was like, "rasp" and then goodness gracious he filed the sides of my nose. I mean, I couldn't really feel the pain per se but you know, as he was doing it, my head was kind of dancing with the thing. My only worry was my eyes to be honest. I was really paranoid that he would hit my eyeballs. But anyhow. He told me that he should actually supposed to fracture the bones with hammer and chisel but since I was awake, not possible so yeah. When he was already stitching it all up, I probably felt the suture needle thrice. It was not pretty. I remember feeling the pain again and the doctor was like, "can you feel it? " and I was like "yeah" and he was like, "we're almost done." good lord. After the stitches were done, he then said he would just tape it and would not "cement". I don't know why. He also placed a cotton ball inside my ear and specifically asked me not to take it off until our next appointment to prevent hematoma. After that, the nurse asked me if I was dizzy and because I was really okay, I got off the OR after maybe 10 minutes.

DAY 2: Bruised. It was the only day I was by the way. Amazing. No pain at all but just to make sure, I took Mefenamic Acid for three days starting the day of surgery.

DAY 5: Tapes and stitches removed. Man, it was brutal. I was tearing because in order for him to rip off the stitches, he kind of pulled it away from my skin so he wouldn't cut it. Gets? Man, it was fresh that time so that really hurt. He then placed new tapes to hasten the recovery.

Those are the eventful days so far. Will update you soon! It's still kind of swollen as of this writing so yeah. Ciao!

Music 21 Sayonara Partei

Music 21 Sayonara Partei
As per usual, we decided to celebrate our final days together with songs.

Hola

My little sisters are not so little anymore. My friends and I are always at awe on how they grow up so fast. Like my bestfriend was telling me how back in the day when we were still in highshool, and she would go to our house, we shoo them away (ehem Mari) because they're like ever so annoying and would either knock endlessly and do some random papansin. And now, they're like literally taller than us na. Also, everytime my friend Diana would ask, she would always be like, high school na ba sila?

SISTERS I NEVER HAD

Random note, I actually celebrated my 18th Birthday with friends here. With them actually. And other friends from both my highschool and university.

Cat showed no mercy to others by singing familiar songs even though it wasn't for her. Bless her. Haha

It was overall a very nice catch-up. Can I just say that I literally just saw Diana twice. Lame. Why do I have workaholic friends?

SISTERS

Food! It was okay. Their onion rings are kind of good though.

Also, I didn't know that the pizza was so big. But we did finish it. Sort of. Ciao!

Beauty and the Beat

Beauty and the Beat

I probably haven't told you about this in this blog but you know, I do love some OPM bands. I would be a hypocrite if I say all because you know, not all.

Callalily @ 70's Bistro

Stellar, Moonstar 88, Gracenote, and Callalily performed that night. It was my first time watching Stellar but I was able to watch the rest during Paskuhan 2015. You know, I like this kind of setting more than the big staged ones like Paskuhan. It kinda stresses me out.

Then I thought I wouldn't be able to watch Sponge Cola (fave) but lo and behold... It was actually Valenzuela's Mayor's B-day and even though we're not from there, we kinda made the effort to go. PS: Because of traffic, our supposed to be 30 mins. travel time became like 1hr and 30mins. Anyways.

I technically did not see them because I forgot to wear my contacts but you know, I was telling my mates that the vibe of just being there makes a lot of difference. Anyways, they did perform with Hale, which I haven't seen for a long time so I'm really glad I did and yeah also my first time to watch Gloc 9 that night. It was short but sweet. The gig.

Last gig was at Cowboy Grill. My lolo kept persuading me before our trip that we should go to Malate instead of Delta because that's where he and my dad used to go like 20 years ago. He probably mentioned it like 5 times. Anyways, when we got there lolo told us to request his all time fave song w/c is Bed of Roses so we requested that. After the band denied some requests people sent them, we were actually surprised they played lolo's jam.

I am a big fan of The Voice so I was really happy to see some of the singers from the show. Actually the reason I wanted to go there in the first place anyways. It was awesome. Ciao!

Ruby Woo

February 01, 2016 0
Ruby Woo

There's too much red happening in this picture that I can't even.

I actually never owned a red lipstick. I don't know why but it just doesn't fit me. Or so I thought. Like, there's something so strange with me wearing red lipstick. Must be the shape of my lips.

But then with my mum's forever comment that I look pale in pictures, I decided to go bold. Like, it's probably all in the mind anyways.

I got Ruby Woo because why not?

My lipstick collection is mainly of pinks and corals so when I went to the store, even though I know I am supposed to get red, I was kind of struggling in choosing but then I figured this is not for everyday wear anyways. So I was like, okay then.

I think Ruby Woo is a very nice shade for red starters. I mean, I like their Russian Red as well but you know, with red lipsticks, I think the matte-r the better. Because glossy lipsticks tend to slide, right? So I think with matte, it's a little more manageable. Actually it's like a double ended sword because you know, if it gets anywhere, it's actually a little bit harder to wipe off. Ciao!
