Yaezakura Spotted!

Yaezakura Spotted!

Just when you thought everything's gone, nope. I actually saw this on my way to Hashimoto to look for stuff. I was like, is this for real right now? Because it's been quite a while since I saw the rest of its sisters on full bloom but it was awesome.

It was awesome! Now, it's not like they have hundreds of them lined up or whatever. Actually, just two trees standing tall. Whatevs.

They too would be retiring soon so I'm just happy to see them before they go.

I actually thought they aren't Sakura. Thought it might be plum, peach, or whatever. Being the clever that I am, I Googled it and it's a match. Yaezakura it is.

Taking Over Shibuya. 4.20.15

Taking Over Shibuya. 4.20.15

I don't know if I've mentioned another place for this matter but I think Shibuya might actually be my favorite place to be as of the moment. I don't know. It's just that recently, I've been wanting to see it even though I don't really have a business to do there.

Hachiko. Seeing him (is it a he?) actually makes me miss my Shiki. I actually hope to go to this place with Shiki. Who knows? Maybe he'll be blessed with loyalty.

Children playing? I actually don't get it but yeah maybe it's just children playing.

Love the balance that Tokyo has. There might be tall buildings everywhere but there will always be plants and flowers. It's definitely a city of balance. Happy Earth Day today!! :)

The only thing that I hated that day is the rain. Don't get me wrong though! I totally knew about the rain but I was like, meh. I don't know what's wrong with Mondays but it's always raining and if I would just stay home or something, I wouldn't be able to achieve anything, really. So I went.

Took this because it reminds me of my uni. Yup! Anything ancient looks like UST to me. I miss my school.

Snack time!! Actually, I ate lunch there too (at Pepper Lunch). Wish I was able to document that but nah. Too hungry.

There's this place for fruits, crepes and parfaits, and I got their Pelican Mango Parfait.

I love Mangoes but this kind of disappointed me some were sour but mostly sweet slices. But still.

Going home already. I was supposed to go straight to Harajuku but since it was raining, I did not. Sad story. Anyways, I enjoyed my mini trip. It was awesome. See yah!

Taking Over Ueno. 3.30.15

Taking Over Ueno. 3.30.15

So...I went to Ueno the same day I went to Nakameguro. It was kind of a frustrating trip and I felt like I didn't really made the most out of it. I was supposed to meet with a friend but since Ueno is big, we can't seem to find each other. We were actually in the same convenience store and the same flower shop but in different places but all in Ueno Station that's how confusing it is around there but uhm yeah. I can go on ranting but I know I'll just get more frustrated than I already am or was so let's just pretend it all didn't happen.

I happened to visit when it was announced to the whole world that it's gonna be the full bloom. So many people!! Seriously couldn't even stop to take pictures without thinking that the people walking behind would be interrupted.

Red lanterns for Ueno.

They have loads of shrines in Ueno. I plan on visiting when there's not much crowd. I think it would be amazing.

Okay so we can't seem to find each other, right? We then decided to meet at the park itself but then nah, the zoo. I got lost and had to walk so far away to enter the zoo. Curse you maps! I actually followed the track and when it said arrived, it was this nothingness. So bad. Okay take that, my map take me to places I guess I can just let go of it.

It was different from how I remember it. Or it was probably just crowded so I sure will revisit when it's not that crazy.

Tora kun. OMG I must tell this to Hidemi loves. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

It was unbelievably hot that day so I had one of this to cool down a little bit. Oh well I'm sure I can find lotsa things to do next time but I'm actually glad that this trip happened. Made me realize things.

Taking Over Harajuku/Shibuya. 2.9.15

Taking Over Harajuku/Shibuya. 2.9.15

To be honest, this is like already one of the cutest stuff I've seen in Harajuku. I also didn't see much "gyaru". I've seen probably 6 of them. Sad.

There are quite a lot of stores in this place and if you just want to spend your money buying stuff, you'll enjoy your time here for sure.

First crepe store I've seen

Going to Takeshita street

It's actually quite near Harajuku Station so you'll never go amiss.

Takeshita Street

Just this street alone will feed you cute stuff! And your stomach too.

Takeshita street is actually kind of small but really full of cute finds. Like, shops after shops. Candy shops, dress shops, restaurants, like, not a single space wasted. And I like that they're all Indie-ish and cute.

Crepes!

Being totally bias, I bought my crepe at Marion Crepes. No idea which one to choose so I chose the one with the longest line. I think the one I got was called Banana Cheesecake or something. It was kind of cold that day so I didn't order the one with the ice cream version whichI bet would be awesome in summer.

Crepes display

Very curious what veggie crepe tastes like. Should I? Should I?

Angels Heart Crepe

Santa Monica crepes

I don't know what is it about Harajuku but there were lots of crepe shops. I'm not complaining. LOL. I think they have like at least 3 Santa Monica crepe store in the area so I'm looking forward to trying some from that shop.

Harajuku is not only a place for cute stuff but oh my gosh also a place for high end stuff. Chanel, D&G, Dior, and a lot more side by side and I was like, okay, going the other way now. LOL.

Harajuku Station

Selfie

Not that these selfies have anything to do with Harajuku. Like, it's difficult traveling alone I feel like. Kind of hard taking pictures of yourself with the stuff that matters. My face matters. Hahaha

It's kind of a vintage looking station and I'm actually really into it. It's not as fancy as Tokyo Station though. I think.

People crossing the street

Harajuku H&M and Forever 21

Lotteria

After a very long walk, I had this and went to Shibuya. At this point, my feet is really aching because of wrong decisions. Hahaha damn you heels!

Touchdown Shibuya

Shibuya lights

If it weren't for my aching feet, I would have stayed longer in Shibuya. It's so pretty there!! Like, lights everywhere and stuff.

Hachiko statue

I miss my dog Shiki. To my disappointment though, didn't take a selfie with it and it's underrated. Like not much people cared about it there, I feel. Lots took pictures though and boom, done.

Pretty!!!

Will definitely be back!! It's so festive. Me likey.

Taking Over Shinjuku 1.13.15

January 14, 2015 2
Taking Over Shinjuku 1.13.15

I usually get pretty busy at work but this week, I got Monday and Tuesday off and on Tuesday, I decided to explore Shinjuku. Why Shinjuku you ask? I don't know too. Anyways, it was my first time commuting to Shinjuku and stuff and man I was blown away by like, everything. I actually didn't go defenseless as I searched for things to do and places to visit beforehand but uhm. No. I actually didn't end up going to any of them except for one. That's life.

It was like 1 hour and a half train ride from my place to Shinjuku and I actually didn't enjoy the process of getting there. It was kind of tiring. Imagine being seated and tired. That kind of tired. When I got off the station, I was like, whoah. Well to be honest, finding the right exit was the only real struggle. LOL.

So when I reached the place, I just walked and walked and kind of familiarized myself to the place a little bit. Just in case my phone dies and I wouldn't be able to use my Google Maps on my way back to the station.

Shinjuku is definitely a busy place. People are everywhere. If you're from the countryside, you might be as blown away as I am. There are a lot of skyscrapers, establishments, this and that and I can't even. But I mean, it's Tokyo so what did I even expect, right?

DELICIOUS RAMEN

I actually ate before I left and when I reached the place, I was already hungry. Totally out of my plan because I thought of crossing out my list of what to do whilst I was there first but failed. I searched for a place to eat anyways and it wasn't easy to find because first, lotsa choices and second, full of people. But it was kinda worth it. I think. I ate at this place where they serve ramen and rice meals and being the ramen girl than I am, you already know what it is. I really liked it!!! Major  yums! What happened next was, I thought of visiting their garden sort of but after a long walk, I found out it was closed. Which makes sense because it's winter. Life. And then I thought I'd go visit the Cat Cafe. Being it a cafe, I thought they would have like sweets and light meals but they serve international kind of meals and no like cafe stuff. I was still full so I thought it was a bad idea to force myself eating just to hang out with cats. But I was kinda sad too. I wanted to like play with little furry creatures. I miss my doggy basically.

Then!! I thought I'd visit the Garden near the cafe but it was closed. It makes sense though. It's winter so it's not like there are gonna be Cherry Blossoms everywhere LOL. Stupid me.

As I was walking back, I saw these temples. Now, I saw these on the Internet but didn't actually put it on my list. But I already failed and nowhere else to go so I thought I'd visit. At this point, my bestfriend called and we were talking, right? I didn't know there were people in the temple and they kind of gave me "that look" LOL sorry guys.

This station is like a very good place to shop!! Malls beside malls!!! Oh can I just say that there are I think 2 or 3 Louis Vuitton store in that area and they're not even that far from each other. Rich people's land, eh? If you dig that type of fashion, Shinjuku is the place for you. Anyways at this point too, I may have hurt my feet a little bit (A LOT!!!). One mall, I think it's Marui, the one in front of Isetan just to be sure, they have like this cool garden at the top and I was like, chance to rest!!

THE ROOFTOP GARDEN

They don't have much going on to be honest, it was also freezing cold and I can't find a place to hang out on. This mall has two Starbucks but no luck. I actually haven't seen a Starbucks with like a waiting line outside. Like back in the Philippines, when Starbucks is full, people usually can't be bothered to wait outside to get in. Anyways. Then I went to another mall which has lots of cool stuff I must say. Its 8th floor specifically. If I literally found my "own" own space. I would definitely collect their like fishes/insects with its bones and nerves exposed placed in a glass vial and they're like very colorful and stuff. They also have like bones of frogs and all other nerdy cool stuff. I like it so much. Kinda pricey but I like it.

MALL'S HALLWAY

Then to my final destination. The Shinjuku Terrace City. I actually planned going here to see the lights. For some reason, I love fairy lights. If I find one, I will definitely set-up my place with some lights. They open the lights at 5pm and I was kind of early for the celebration. Also hungry so I stopped by Starbucks to warm myself up which totally didn't happen by the way because available seats are outside. But anyways.

Finally...Shinjuku 2015 illumination everybody.

Picture above is probably my favorite out of all of them. They have a short path in the middle and crossing that just feels like magic.

OBLIGATORY SELFIE

I probably crossed this path three/four times just because. LOL. If I were with friends, wouldn't have left without the most epic picture LOL. That's life.

Even the reflection looks magical. Oh can I just say that there were policemen standing in front of this building for a good 10-15 minutes, because there was a group rallying and it's funny how almost all of us seem more interested to the lights.

Before I actually went home, I strolled the streets a little bit more to hopefully make myself hungry and then I realized Starbucks was a wrong idea because it was quite dinner time already and I was still full.

I enjoyed my trip to Shinjuku. I don't know if I will be back soon though. I guess I have a lot of places to explore before I decide to go back there. Maybe like in April when the Sakura is at its full bloom or something. See you guys soon.
