Meiji Jingu in Harajuku

June 13, 2016 0
Meiji Jingu in Harajuku

This was like so unexpected. I thought we were just roaming around Harajuku and see some cute stuff but apparently, they were here before but didn't go all the way so this time they planned to go. For real.

The Arch

I'm glad I came with because this is probably not somewhere I'd go by myself but who knows? I might.

No Idea what these are

It's actually kind of a long walk to the main shrine and I guess it's just more of a tourist thing but yeah it's nice.

Cleansing area. Before saying a prayer, it is mandatory to purify or something. You have to wash your hands and mouth with water.

With Allurie

I actually went with a college friend with her family. Nice that we saw each other after like 3 years? They were actually having a renovation in the place and I thought they're closed officially but yeah all good. Should probably be back to see improvements. Also, did you know that they don't use nails in building these shrines? I didn't know either.

It was a nice trip. It was a good day to say a prayer and ask for wellness and all that. It was also nice that even just for a little time, I got to hang with my friend. Ciao!

Hakkeijima Sea Paradise

June 07, 2016 1
Hakkeijima Sea Paradise

This place has always been a part of me growing up. We go here probably once a year or two to watch the dolphins and all that shizz. I'm glad to be able to come back.

To be honest, I don't remember anything. Must have been different pushing baby strollers than just walking on your own.

Sea Paradise is indeed a paradise. It has 4 aquariums and a decent amusement park. I like it. Subtle.

Scary

Focus

As much as I also like the idea of releasing them to their natural habitat, I can't complain because they all look so well fed. So keep it up.

Sea Lions

Beluga Whales

Dolphins

Way way back ago when we used to go to these shows, I once dreamed of becoming a trainer. I still want to become one.

Just hangin' out with mah hommies.

Kare Rice

Cutie

Cute dolphin that's always ready for the camera. The dolphin is wounded though so maybe that's why he's in a different quadrant.

Choo choo

I think this was our first ride besides the train. I also had headache after. The kids that we rode with were just playing and riding over and over again.

Favorite ride ever. I miss this already. I think I read it somewhere that this is the longest rollercoaster? Fastest? Can't recall which.

I'm a sucker for sunsets and that time, I got to watch one. It was beautiful.

Anchor ride

The place was so not crowded even it's a Holiday so we were able to ride then and there. Awesome isn't it?

Peter Pan's ride

I remember being terrified of this ride as a kid. I didn't really ride before but I had this notion that this is a scary ride so glad to be able to break past that.

The Tower

Can I just say that this concept should be a thing. Everyone sits and the thing goes up, and you appreciate the view. Most of the time, it's you queuing, and walking, and make your way thru by-standers so you can't really see the view all that much. Hear this please.

It was a nice trip back to my childhood. I'd be glad to come back again with my sisters for they might not remember a thing about this. Ciao!

Takasaki Park Hanami 2016

Takasaki Park Hanami 2016

And yes. We finally got a full bloom. Although alone, I really felt happy that I was able to see all this beauty.

I was kind of hesitant for Hanami actually because it particularly rained so hard earlier that day and I was like should I really go there with umbrella or something? But you know, it did stop when I was about to go off the train. Also, my advice is just to go for it because Sakura wouldn't wait for you.

Takasaki Park is kinda near the station.  Probably a 20 minute walk or less even so it's really easy to locate (if you know how to read a map).

It's a small park though, but you know, you get what you want there so why not?

Beautiful!

Selfie

Also a fun fact, there are actually about 3-4 bird cages in that park. I don't know what for but yeah.

So delicate. So pure. Like, who wouldn't love to stare at these, right?

Takasaki Park

Awesome! For some reason, I like me some Sakura by the river/lake or something. Any parts of water for that matter. It brings this sort of balance (in my head). Hahaha. There were people feeding the kois with bread when I went there so yeah it was a riot.

Takasaki City Office

Time to go Home

Anyways, that was my last Hanami for this year. I didn't go to many places as planned but that just makes next year very much anticipated. I don't think I'll be running out of places to go anyways because there are just lotsa spots here in Japan where people can enjoy the beauty of Sakura so yeah. Ciao!

Ueno Hanami 2016

Goofy us

Goofy us 2.0

Ueno crowd

It was full-packed! Even though it was not yet full bloom time. Like, it was the start of Sakura. Literally. We went there March 27, 2016 and the bloom started on the 25th I guess.

Pretty

We ate a lot of foods! Okonomiyaki, yaki ika, cow tongue, long fries, and chocolate banana.

It was still pretty though even though it was way too early for the hanami.

Myself and Bry

It was beautiful lit up

The long fries was interesting and it was delicious! It was actually made from scratch. Not raw potatoes though, duh. Mashed potatoes and it was pushed through this cool little device and cooked in front of us.

        lanterns in Ueno

After our Hanami, we went to Ueno Market because he wanted to show me where he used to go where he still lived in Ibaraki and would go to his dad. It was nice. I would probably be afraid walking here alone though. Haha Ciao!
