Mama's Quarantine Birthday

Mama's Quarantine Birthday

Ohana!

As I grow older, I find it harder to eat a lot. Charot! But yeah I tend to be more pickier with my food but it doesn’t really mean I eat less or anything. Just you know, I kind of eat food that I like and skip food that I don’t like as much.

For my mom’s 52nd birthday, we went to a place called Yakimix. I have blogged about this place of course but now it's because it's my mother's birthday.

MEAT SELECTION

Their meat was just not it. I don't know. I feel like it's a hit or miss with this one.

Their Japanese section was also not impressive. I don't know. I remember it being more acceptable in a sense.

I enjoyed eating it though. I mean, it was not bad. Just not good.

There's also a significant decrease in the number of variants they offer. Sad.

LOL I remember my auntie asking me when I got the broccolis. Well, if you may ask, I got it from the beef bulgogi thingy.  This is my first plate and I actually got more or less the same food for my second,  third, and fourth.

For someone who complained about a lot of things, I actually ate so much. Happy Birthday, mama!

FULLY VACCINATED

FULLY VACCINATED

In this post, I just want to share that your girl is now fully vaccinated. I don't know how it will be able to protect me or everyone around me but I hate hate hate how relaxed I feel in general. Like, pre-vaccination, I would wash my hands maybe every 15 minutes. I never touch anything at work without wearing gloves, and all that. After vaccination, I kinda lean towards my usual way pre-COVID. I still wash my hands though! Just not as often. I don't know. To be honest, I feel like I'd catch or maybe already caught the virus again at some point. But you know, KNOCK ON WOOD cause your girl will fly to Japan soon! Did you guys miss my Japan post? Is it just me? LOL. So yeah there's that. My second dose was sooo much better. No symptoms at all! Well, except for the pain on the injection site. I still took paracetamol like I did before so I don't know if I prevented the symptoms altogether or if there's no symptoms at all. I guess the first dose was so traumatic that I didn't want it to happen again. Can I just rant for one second?? So our second dose was supposed to be on 5/21/2021 and the staff at the clinic who chose to have Astrazeneca was divided into two groups. I was on the second group. The first group then went to the vaccination site only to be told that the second dose will be moved after two weeks. Like, you should have sent us a text. I kinda knew it would happen and I even told everyone. Because my sister who took the same shot received a text two weeks before her supposed to be scheduled dose. Anyway, even though I didn't have to go to the venue, I still felt bad for my co-workers who had to go because it was extra extra hot/sunny that day. Anyway, it's old news but I just wanted to share that. One thing I want to rant about is how they spelt AstraZeneca.

I mean, It's AstraZeneca and not AZTRAZENECA for goodness sake. I mean, as a commoner, it’s quite easy to wonder how well our vaccination card will be recognized internationally though. It’s just not at that level yet. I mean, maybe just my card personally. I’ve seen some decent cards though so there’s that. Yun lang! Why didn’t they standardized the cards for everyone in the first place?

Caught on Film!

Caught on Film!

HI FOLKS! So not so long ago, my co-workers and I had a talk about our childhood pictures. Well, it kinda started when one of us showed a picture when she was younger and basically she asked us to bring a physical photo album of our childhood pictures sort of (which we didn't end up doing by the way). I am lucky because my mom made sure to have all these and a whole lot more photos taken when I was younger. So yeah! I'm actually just gonna repost these as I've already shared these with everyone on my old blogspot. Peace!

I have no recollection whatsoever of this so it's nice to have these photos to look at and just know that it happened. It's kinda why I keep a blog as well. I guess I got it from my momma.

My biological dad. I don’t know and I don’t remember anything from it but my mom said I’ve been to Ueno Zoo many times before. My only memory of it was quite recent when I went with my Nepali friends.

How cute am I with those ternos?

One thing I remember from my childhood is this. Me feeding the pigeons popcorns. I loved it.

Retro

Also, can we acknowledge my hair rollers for a while? Yup.

I’ve blogged about this on my previous blog. This is when I got lost (and found).

My bunny! I don’t know where that is now. Also, my mom ended up buying the big bear in the picture as well. My goodness I remember crying over it at one point and now it’s locked up in some cabinet who knows where in my room. Walang forever.

Sakuragicho with my aunt and uncle
More pigeon feeding
I was kind of cute as a child

This is I remember so well. This was in Nagano where we usually spend the Golden Week. I mean, not at thid particular place but just Nagano in general.

That’s all folks! I want to keep pictures like this for my future child as well. Or my pet. I mean, it’s just nice to look at. Ciao!

COVID 19 Vaccine First Dose Done

April 03, 2021 0
COVID 19 Vaccine First Dose Done

Where is the lie? (Relevant but not for long)

I had my first dose of the vaccine on March 26, 2021. As per WHO’s recommendation, SINOVAC isn’t advised for medical front-liners and then there was this debate that Medical Technologists such as myself isn’t really considered a front-liner and stuff but yeah that’s for another story. Maybe later in the post.

Before coming to work, I already took one paracetamol to kind of prep myself for the whole procedure. I’m sorry, liver.

To my surprise, they let us choose what to get and I actually don’t mind getting any of the two that is available but I opted for the one that is “recommended”. But it’s just me. You can get whatever you want. Just get it ASAP.

This is me getting jabbed. Initial feeling is actually just pain on the area. Nothing really weird.

This is my celebratory meal. Loved it.

CHILLS. FEVER. DIARRHEA. VOMITING. HEADACHE. A little bit of all of that. Well actually, the headache was kind of severe on the second day that I was literally down. I actually took paracetamol every 4 hours after the first ever dosage that day but it still managed to fvkc me up.

I switched to a different paracetamol but yeah I guess the way to deal with everything is to just let it be. I mean, take paracetamol sure, but there’s really nothing you can do with it. Just go with the flow. Now let me just go back with the issue of medical technologists not being a front-liner real quick. I don’t mind if it was said to me because we do not really cater to COVID 19 PATIENTS. So I guess I’m not a front-liner in that sense. But some of my acquaintances sacrifice/d a whole lot just to be invalidated by the government they’re trying to help. So you know, just be careful with the words you put out there because not everyone is the same.

Diagnosed with PCOS. Now what?

March 21, 2021 0
Diagnosed with PCOS. Now what?

About a month ago, after months of missed period, I decided to have it checked. I don't know why I wasn't that concerned though coz I remember this thing happened last year too and I guess my period came in and continued coming on the clock for several months so...yeah. I initially thought that last year's shenanigans is brought upon by stress which is maybe true but this year is less stressful for me in a way but I also thought it's probably because of the Corona virus and stuff but yeah I decided to have it checked by the tech and yeah I had a whole abdomen ultrasound that time and she said she can’t really find anything beside my perfect looking kidneys and my fatty liver so she said I should have it checked by the doctor and yeah. I had a Trans-V ultrasound and I don’t know if the doc’s just so used to it but she sounded so unconcerned when she said “poly cystic ka lang dear”. I don’t know if it’s nothing to be concerned about or maybe that’s just how she approach patients but yeah. She wrote me a prescription that would restart my cycle. PROVERA and METFORMIN. So, the Provera she asked me to take once a day for 5 days initially and metformin 3 times a day for 3 months. I would then have to wait for my cycle to start and count the 15th day and then drink the Provera again for 10 days straight. And that would be the case for 3 cycles. Metformin would kill me, I tell you. It gives me the worst headache and stuff but I guess if I want to fix my cycle, I have to endure the pain and all. I’m not really diabetic per se but I guess with the cysts that I have, my body’s reaction to sugar and insulin is impaired. So yeah. I hate the metallic taste it leaves on my tongue. Gross. The doctor actually said that it’s an expected side effect and that if I couldn’t take it, I can just stop drinking it and just try to lose weight. Because apparently, reducing the dose would just be useless and it would just have an effect with that dosage. I don’t know. I just know it makes me dizzy. Now you may have heard that PCOS almost always equate to pills but in my case, it wasn’t recommended because apparently, I’m prone to cancer? Something like that. So you know, I don’t know if the pill causes cancer or maybe that’s just me given my situation.

Anyway, I actually already started my cycle (thank goodness) and yeah hopefully after the treatment my body would be normal again. At the end of my ultrasound session and after all the prescription was explained, the doctor reassured me not to worry because the medicined would not affect my future kids. That’s a relief! Anyway, that’s all!

Tong Yang Plus

Tong Yang Plus

A little over a month ago, we went to this place at SM North Edsa and had lunch. Birthday lunch to be exact. It was actually my first time here and even with the precautions they’re doing with the ongoing pandemic and all, I still enjoyed. I mean, we went to two different buffets and the experience was just not the same. I actually wonder what’s it like here before the pandemic.

They had this mini photo booth that I many pictures of. Myself and my sister.

They had this cute valentine cake going on. I actually didn’t bring any ID with me which I should have bought because they have a birthday promo and my meal should have actually been free but too bad.

Chicken
Hainanese
Stuff for grilling.

I had soo many shrimp! No regrets! I actually didn’t try much of the other stuff they have that day which is not the right way to attack a buffet if you ask me.

The shabu shabu thing they have going on also have pre-made set and all you have to do is to order a soup to put it in. I don’t recommend it. It doesn’t taste like anything to be honest.

Oooopsssieeesss

This may have been my 3rd or 4th plate of shrimp.

Family picture

That’s all guys! I would actually want to go back here in the future. Probably with the whole gang if possible. I guess they would enjoy the experience as well.

29 Years Old!

29 Years Old!

One week ago, your girl turned 29 years old! I mean, we're almost at the end of my 20's and it's quite scary to be honest. I mean it's only a year older but there's something about hitting that mark I guess. I mean, it wasn't as big of a deal when I was 19 turning 20 for sure but yeah (checks old blog) -- It turns out I started blogging shortly after my 20th birthday so I couldn't really tell you if I was like, whoah! I'm 20. Anyway.

This cake is called Cookieccino and for some reason, I like it. Everyone else in the fam didn't like this as much but me likey!

This is the cake my co-medtechs got me! They're all vibin' with the cake's theme yeah? Thanks, guys! I appreciate you all!

This is what my mom got me. She's really into the SHEIN thing which I don't really get. I mean, maybe I'm just not big into clothes is all. I'm big into chocolates though!

The main celebration was when we ate at this hotspot place and it was so awesome! I'd definitely want to go back there with the whole of my family! AS IN MY WHOLE FAMILY! I'll share a little glimpse of the new normal of the restaurant right after this one.

I enjoyed! I like this better than any korean grill and stuff but yeah I like this one. I ate so much and could have eaten so much more! Matakaw ka girl?

My sister's boyfriend sent this and it was delish actually. q

29 is probably not a bad age for some but yeah don't come for me, I can feel whatever I want and to be honest now that I'm older, I don't care as much so yeah. Yay!
