Roponggi Illumination 2018

Roponggi Illumination 2018

Roponggi!

Hi there! So you know, the first time I went, the tower was this color which I know they do from time to time depending what there is to celebrate.

It was still beautiful as it is. But last year's team was kind of epic and this year's a no match, sorry. All they have for a show is the blinking thing they have once in a while.

selfie

I went twice to this place because the first time I went, it was kind of not a proper show yet hence there were crews assessing the situation and all that.

What's up, pants? Hang on there!

The second time was kind of unexpected. My people needed to do something there and tagged me along.

The second time I went, the show was on! Was so pretty!

It was RED. I like it red actually. Classic.

So yeah. That's about it actually. Nothing too fancy. I enjoyed though! See yah!

Japan is a little bit Dangerous

April 18, 2014 0
Japan is a little bit Dangerous

Surprised? Yeah me too. After 18 days of living alone, I have known many things that I did not want to know but thankfully, I have. Because the knowledge might save me.

As much as I love Japan and it's beauty. Well the people too. Sometimes. Just like any other place, it can be dangerous.

Suicide is one thing very common here. I don't know. And it's crazy how people can kill their own relative just for health insurance and stuff. Also, usually, widowed woman, who is dating another man would kill their own child to be free and have more time for the man. Crazy crazy crazy.

I don't know why it is easy for them to kill people. Very minimal but it happens. The situation is usually like this. A guy holding a knife would just attack anyone and kill it. I'm pretty sure that the guy is out of his mind but you know, that's what they're showing on the news and it scares the heck out of me. I guess there's a reported case in my area. If you remember the preschool I was talking about, there! And it's effing near my place. I used to have no problem walking or cycling that lane but when I knew, I'm like a ninja and would just speed up! And look at my back as if someone's after me. Kahit wala naman. Life.

Also, on a more personal note, people I know would get followed by people on a bike. You know, rapists. I guess since quite a lot of old guys are single, they would just attack girls. Creepy!! I was told that my friend and her mom were on a bike together, right? They were on different lanes and maybe the guy didn't know they were together and the target was actually Demi and the mom kind of noticed it and spoke to her in Filipino and basically what she said is to stop by the convenience store and not their home and yeah the culprit disappeared. The mom also experienced the same thing and she stopped by somewhere and yeah.

On other note, I don't know whether it is legal to abort a child here but for some reason, I didn't imagine this place to have so many cases of that. Anyways, that's my update! See yah!

Shop Until You Drop

March 27, 2013 0
Shop Until You Drop
A few days ago, I went with my mom and cousin to sort of accompany/entertain a couple with their granddaughter that is far related to dad. We accompany the woman and the child to go shop for souvenirs they would be giving away to their family members and to some of their friends. If what we did isn't tiring, then I don't know what is. The woman was really picky and would really consider everything before buying stuff. Like, she would consider whether or not the item would fit the person or like if the item would match their style or whatnot. Also, when we were on that souvenir-souvenir stuff, the woman would actually ask questions like the history shizz. Because there were like mini figurines of like, the "katutubos". Unlike mom who would actually just pick random stuff and decide on the spot. LOL. So after that tiring shopping activity we had, we decided to have something to at least replenish our lost energy.

Banoffee Pie and Green Tea Pie! I love! I don't know exactly why we didn't eat something heavy because I was dang tired but yeah, dessert comes first! :)

We then went back to Pan Pacific to load off the shopping bags and all that. Haggard faces for the win! Since it rained really hard, the Luneta Park and Intramuros trip was cancelled and clearly, we don't have business to do there anymore (according to mom) we just decided to go back to the mall.

And then we went back to the mall to eat. LOL. We decided to try the new stuff from KFC which is not worth the hype, really. Not actually bad but it's just not.. I don't know.

All in all though, I enjoyed that day and I was really happy that we were able to accompany them here in the Philippines and I really enjoyed playing with MOMO chan. Such a sweetheart! :) That's all!

Japanese Survival Guide.

March 22, 2013 0
Japanese Survival Guide.
Japanese is probably one of the languages that people want to learn these days. I don't really get it but I'm here to help! :) See, as a Japanese, people expect me to know my language fully. Not gonna happen. I mean, we, Japanese do have a dictionary too and we have it for something. For reference. But the good news is you wouldn't be needing that to survive. Say you would stay in Japan for five days, these five words would be enough for you to survive. This is like learning these the lazy way. I mean, I'm gonna make it easy for everyone.

1. Hi! My name is (Mikie).

Google Translate: こんにちは!私の名前はミキエです。Kon'nichiwa! Watashi no namae ha (Mikie) desu.

- Bad news is you have to memorize that because there's no easy way out. You could actually say

"Watashi no namae ha (Mikie)" or "Namae ha (Mikie)".

But that's like your last resort. So if you're going ever going to Japan, you have to at least know this. And! Unless we have the same name, don't say Mikie, alright? LOL. Japanese people are quite familiar with "What is your name?" so that would make it a lot easier for you but if you heard the word NAMAE, it has something to do with name. Pretty easy, right? NAME=NAMAE.

2. I can't speak Japanese.

Google Translate: 私は日本語を話すことができません。Watashi wa nihongo o hanasu koto ga dekimasen.

- Seriously? Nope! You don't say that. I mean, if you would like to be an interpreter for the Prime Minister then you might need to say that but because you're a tourist who can't really speak the language, this is how I would recommend you say it.

"Watashi nihongo wakaranai"

Which literally means I don't know Japanese but it'll make sense, trust me. It's still crazy long but relatively shorter.

3. I am a Foreigner.

Google Translate: 私は外国人です。Watashi wa gaikoku hitodesu.

- If you're not from South East Asia, there's a big chance that Japanese people would already know but just keep going. Anyways, this is still quite long. Not really conversational so what the heck?

"Watashi wa gaikokujin desu"

4. How much is this?

Google Translate: これはいくらですか?Kore wa ikuradesu ka?

- Or you could just hold the thing up and say,

"Ikura?"

This is actually just applicable when you're in a flee market or when it's not indicated but you know, it's usually indicated somewhere. Oh one more thing! There are some Ramen restaurants which put Japanese numbers instead so if you want to know, say you're budgeting your money and stuff, you could point the ramen on their menu and ask away. If they answered in Japanese, just get them answer you in sign language. You have to guess first and show them your hands. And ask "OK?" as a follow up question. Also comes handy when you're bargaining.

5. Thank you.

Google Translate: ありがとう。Arigatou.

- I think Japanese people are nice in general so I think it is just right to thank them for like, exerting a little effort to talk to you or help you or when you got a discount or just about anything you're thankful for. Just say "Arigatou" or "Domo". Actually, you'll do fine already with the word "thank you."

I will come up with an advance course for everyone soon! That's all! :)

Playing with Snow. A Look Back.

October 04, 2012 0
Playing with Snow. A Look Back.
I don't have back stories or stuff but these are just photos of me then and not so then??? LOL playing with snow. Okay. We used to go to very far provinces on Golden Week because you know, no office and stuff so that means dad can bring us to far places. We usually go to bath houses and enjoy the water from the mountains and yeah. EAT GOOD FOOD. Will do that again soon! :D How soon? I don't know.

It was mom's idea that we kind of hold on the snow and stuff. I really hated baby bag.. Like, if you all can remember I used to carry my sisters' baby bag and stuff. Like this one! Uh-huh. And look how I wore sandals. I was obviously a fashion disaster victim. Actually, not the sandals' fault. SOCKS.

Also mom's idea. Awesome kind of thing.

Love this pic! My sister was just so WINNER.

That's all! :)

Shoop O_o.

I actually forgot these babies! Classy! :)
I don't know what I was thinking when I suddenly decided to show my Shoop collection and forget about these. I love love these!

Like, I can pretty much use it anytime, anywhere. You can use it in a formal event without being casual and you can use it in a casual event, without being formal. Voila!

Cute little things.

April 18, 2012 2
Cute little things.
So this are some stuff that I got from Hidemi over the past few years. She likes UBE ICE CREAM for some reason so I kind of always bring that to her when I visit Japan. Since she's so girly (and so am I), she usually gives kawaii stuff.

I don't know why, but she loves giving me perfumes. Am I smelly or what?

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

I haven't used any of these yet. I don't know why actually. For some reason, when it comes to perfumes/colognes, I usually finish the whole bottle first before using another one. And I have quite a few Victoria Secret's Body Mists to finish. I probably should change that attitude of mine.

Also, some cute stuff which Japanese girls usually hang on their bags/phones/anything. I happen not to like hanging stuff on my stuff so I keep this mostly as a souvenir/display.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

The last time Hidemi and I saw each other, she was still in school and so you know, high school girls in Japan aren't allowed to have piercings and she's really really envy that I have my ears done and yeah she then gave me these earrings.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

As much as I love the designs and all that, I haven't wore these for a long time either. I don't know but my ears are b*tchy sensitive.

Being a tri-lingual.

March 31, 2012 0
Being a tri-lingual.

I'm not gonna brag about this (will). Nah just kidding. People from high school and college actually kind of see this as my strength while I don't really know.

Awhile ago, a friend of mine sent me an article that made me want to share this thing.

I did not learn this languages by choice (just so you know).  How did I learn them?

FILIPINO: Contrary to the popular belief, TAGALOG isn't what we speak, alright? It's FILIPINO. I probably can speak this because I am half-Filipino and I am now living in the Philippines. Actually, I've been here quite a long time so what are the chances that I can't speak/understand the language? Not to make anyone who have been living here for quite sometime and still can't speak the language bad of course. I'm just saying.

ENGLISH: English is probably a little bit something that I chose to be good at. I mean, they teach English in all levels here and in college (I'm still in college), if you can't understand English, you're doomed. But I think I'm really into it and I don't know. I think I'm just comfortable in this language. Why though? I wonder.

JAPANESE: My dad is Japanese and can't speak English/Filipino so this I think I learned from living in Japan when I was younger and sort of conversing with our neighbors and friends and all that stuff. I think this is also something I am passionate about. It's kind of a nice language to sort of learn and put in heart.

Yoku Moku chocolates!

February 14, 2012 0
Yoku Moku chocolates!

Awesome sauce! Like, it's kind of just sweet but I can really eat it. It's like wafer-filling-wafer type of thing. I know it's not obvious since it's super thin but based on my very keen observation, I noticed. Hooray!  I'm no expert (as always) but it tastes like caramel rather than chocolate but even though I'm no good at french, the package says it is chocolate so it must be some variant or whatever.  The above pictures show the completely covered wafer/biscuit and this one below shows the one side covered with the chocolate and it also contains nuts. I personally prefer the red one.
