EXPLORING Takasaki

December 25, 2015 0
EXPLORING Takasaki

Takasaki has been one of my favorite cities to visit recently. It`s not much but going here kind of gives me a peace of mind of some sort.

When we were in Yokohama, I saw this double deck-ish kind of train compartment and it was my first time seeing one so I was like, what the heck is this? And Bry explained that it is a GREEN CAR and it is where passengers can somehow ride (for a cost) to avoid the hassle of standing and/or crowded trip. I initially thought it's only for airports and stuff.

As a rule, you have to tap your SUICA CARD right  away or else the attendant would have to ask you to pay in cash. What happened to us is that we didn't have a loaded card so cash it was. The fee actually depends on your destination and I remember ours was like 1000 yen plus each so yeah it`s kind of pricey but I can imagine how convenient this gimmick would be for late commuters or like PWD.

The smell of poultry. I haven`t even thought of that when I first exited the station but Bry kind of pointed it out. It was bothersome the first few times but I guess it grew on me and I don`t mind it much now.

Very subtle station.

It`s one of Gunma`s major station and with Shinkansen connections all over, I can see why. The station is actually quite big and quite lots of stalls to visit and there are actually quite a lot of local souvenir shops so awesome.

I have actually been here for maybe like 8 times or more but I still haven`t got in the building at the back. Although I should have. But I don`t know when I`ll be back here.

It was September when I first visited so it`s like a transition to fall but the trees there were kind of ahead the season so I was like, must take pictures!

As mentioned, they actually are somehow an agricultural city of some sort so they did have quite a lot of rice fields and stuff. The first time I visited, this is how it looked like.

Couple of visits after, they turned yellow. Am I the only one amazed how nature works?

Totally out of the plan but there`s actually a park nearby and obstacle courses and it`s totally not the ideal activity considering the time but it turned out to be a great idea.

When we visited, I remember this day being the day the moon turn BLOOD RED but I guess not in ASIA but we did get quite an awesome view that night with the stars surrounding and shining from above.

Then this happened.

Harvest season!

I saw how it happened. I feel like a proud momma. Hahahaha

Even this is nice to look at. Like, you can see that Japan is not only about Tokyo.

Fall.

Inside the train.

On the difference note, you`ll be amazed on how vintagey the trains are there. Some modern and some are like this and I`m not even complaining. It`s awesome as it is. It`s like Japan way back when. I suggest you do visit Gunma. Ciao!

Tokyo Tower is Love

Tokyo Tower is Love

We finally did it. We went to Tokyo Tower because I told Bry that it's been ages since I last went so after we watched the Hunger Games, we went to TT.

For some reason, I know I have been here but I definitely have no memory of it whatsoever.

I don't know if it's like an everyday thing but when we went, they were having this food bazaar that we fully enjoyed.

Beautiful. I told Bry that if I see The Eiffel Tower I might cry.

We weren't able to take pictures of all the food so bare with me. What I'm eating here is grilled saba which was awesome! I think it's like 350/piece and like 1000/3 pieces but the man selling was kind enough to give us 2 each for the price of one. Awesome sauce.

We also had this dashi udon which was nice because it was chilly that day. They come with daicon sushi which we survived to eat. Not really our cup of tea. I had to force Bry to eat his sushi. We also had karaage, grilled chicken, and taiyaki. So as you may know, we had a full stomach before we even go up.

It was rather a quick line up but yeah it was really crowded.

They should have a veranda where you can just lay down, drink wine, and stuff. I think that would be a great idea.

I think we were able to see everything that night. We were stopping at like every 5 windows or so to check out the view.

We also went up the special observatory because why not?

My companion.

People were getting crazy over this glass thing. It's not that scary as it is but I guess they were scared of what might happen but you know, chill. A child even jumped really hard on this and the staff was just like looking like he doesn't give a f. Bry even jumped and you know might have caused panic to some. But you know guys, they wouldn't put it there if it is dangerous.

They have this One Piece thing going on. Not a fan.

Tokyo Tower Selfie

Souvenir for the night. Quite amazed at this. I suggest you getting this and hopefully you see that uncle staff which will tell you you're beautiful (in your own language). Ciao!

Exploring Tokyo with Kim

Exploring Tokyo with Kim

I was like 30 minutes late our call time because I messed up. I literally carefully calculated the time needed for me to get to my destination on time but this is what happened. When I transfered train station, I fell asleep sort of and I knew my station would just be like 3 stops away but yeah when I came to my senses, I was like, OMG NO! Then I hurried to get down from the station, located the exit, and yeah I was wrong. Because my station is actually supposed to be the next station from where I went down. Then I have to wait for like, kinda long right? And so it goes. I kinda feel sorry for them. They waited for a long time under the sun.

Our first stop is Rikugi-en. It's kind of odd that my friend wanted to see gardens and parks here in Japan. Contrary to what I think most people want to see here like lights, night life, Disney, and everything. Her reason being is that there's no such thing in the Philippines. I agree! But Disney though. Although they went to Universal in Osaka which I very much envy. Anyways.

Literally so hot. I can't. The place was so pretty though. I can't wait to be back by like fall or like Sakura season.

Then we went to Nakamise St. I haven't been! It was so crowded. Again, I guess it would have been nicer in fall or like Spring.

Total fail. This machine refused to let its eggs out :(

Then we ate at this Yakiniku place. I was literally talking about wanting to eat Yakiniku but I just can't because more often than not, I'm alone at life so yeah haha. The story is that we were actually supposed to eat at Saizeriya and then this place is beside that and we were curious so we checked it out and yeah apparently it's a Yakiniku Buffet and yeah it's very affordable! Me likey. Yakiniku finally!!

Kim, Hachiko, and I

Before Shibuya, we went to Shinjuku first. But then we realized that there's nothing much in Shinjuku. Just heartache. Joke! I shouldn't have insisted to go there. Oh well. Sayang.

Then we went to their apartment which was in Shinjuku.

On my way back to Shinjuku Station.

Oh Shinjuku.

Tokyo Disney Sea 2015

Tokyo Disney Sea 2015

First time at Disney Sea! I haven't been to Universal either but I'm assuming that the Earth something something looks quite similar to this. Or at least we thought. Haha

For some reason, when I go to parks and stuff, it's always Halloween. I wonder.

Disney Sea gives me a European village vibe for some reason. Haven't been to Europe either so I don't know why I'm saying that. Haha

Went with Bry to celebrate his Birthday. :)

When I was a child, I always wondered what Disney Sea is like but I was always too small for Disney Sea so that gave me the notion that Disney Sea is for adults. Also, when I was kind of a grown-up, my little sisters were too little for it anyways so we didn't really have a chance to go together.

For most part, it is. But that doesn't mean that children wouldn't enjoy their visit or something. There are still rides and places where we felt like we're too old to go into. But that's like only 1 ride so whatever haha.

A little bit of advice though, if you have a child maybe like below 6, stick to Disneyland. I am always irritated by parents who carry their infants with them.  I mean, there's no point. Should have left them somewhere warm. Kawawa lang yung bata. Or so I think.

Me assessing Cruella

Cruella De Vil was just so cruel that day (or always) shooing people away haha.

Break time!! Disney wouldn't be complete without Turkey Legs of course. We also had Gyoza.

Also, I have just known this thru someone as well but when I asked that friend the difference between Disney Land and Sea, he immediately asked me "do you know they sell beer at Disney Sea?" And so I was like, okay should try that. And so we did.

Second favorite ride.

My favorite part! I don't know. This is just random.

We waited in line for like 140 minutes. Somebody give us an award for this.

My favorite ride!!

Disney Sea at night is just as magical as Disney Land. I mean, I don't know. I think I would be judging too quickly if I were to choose now but yeah, would make the judgment as soon as I get to explore more of both parks.

I also would like to point out that even though there's no Cinderella's Castle, this Little Mermaid's lagoon or whatever somehow makes up for it. But I must admit that there's something really magical with the classic Castle but you know, whatevs.

Favorite view

Heading home.

Toyville

I would love to go back soon! :) I mean, to finally choose/make up my mind which I like better or something. But I somehow find that impossible because you know, I have been to Disneyland as many times as I could remember and I still think I haven't seen most of it. That's why I think it's beautiful. Because you can never fully see it. Like, there's always something to look forward to. So yeah they're both beautiful as it is so I guess it's really just a matter of preference.
