UST Paskuhan 2013

UST Paskuhan 2013

Hi guys! I want to share what happened during PASKUHAN! And man I tell you! It was not glamorous at all. Not pretty! Like, quite messy but fun in some ways. I have been attending Paskuhan for quite a while now and I think this is not the best that I have been. Let's start from the start. We arrived really really early for the occasion. Say, 4 pm? The Paskuhan is not until 7 so we really tried our best to beat our own record. I think our earliest time is around 5 ish. So since we were early, we decided to have merienda first.

cousin and I
sister dear

We went to Santorini! Again, that might not be any News to you at all since you probably know by now that I love going there. Also, we had some milkshakes from Indulgence.  And then we went back to the field. I tell you it was rather a very rainy Paskuhan. Like to the point where we weren't able to use the newspapers (to sit on) I prepared. It's just a floody/muddy mess.

It all started with a mass and during the mass, I was really hoping that the rain would stop immediately. It didn't fail me. That much. It continued raining for a while after the mass and stopped for good after probably an hour.

I really really feel so bad that we left during the mass but we didn't really mean it. We're just avoiding getting wet and probably sick. We didn't leave as in leave though. We stayed on the pavement where there are trees to shelter us sort of.

this is all we get
And this Paskuhan is really different because there's no fireworks and stuff but the priest told us that it wouldn't be a Paskuhan without Fireworks so this happened.

HAPPY US
Main Building is Gorgeous!

After the mass, we gladly went back on track. And what's nice in this year's Paskuhan is that there are few mono blocks and I guess we were lucky to be able to get some for ourselves. One thing I really wanted to achieve each Paskuhan is to get closer in front. Like, god knows how far we were on stage for like 4-5 years and yeah this Paskuhan is the closest we were on stage and yay for us!

this is how close we were
I would still prefer us being at the center of the field though but this is a lot better than being at the back or somewhere not in front. Quite an achievement. Can we just take a moment and appreciate the beautiful but awkwardly positioned chandelier.

Danita Paner
People would probably say Joyce Pring but I'd say Danita is the most gorgeous person I've seen on stage that night. Irrelevant information.

My favorite performer? RICO BLANCO! Like, it's not even debatable. He's just so good! The rest was also good but he's just the best. The performances were great! I don't have anything bad to say about the performances but man they really started too late.

I think it's because of the rain or something but still, it was annoying. I think they started at around 8:30 and the thing is we weren't able to finish all the performances and stuff because I was expecting a 12am wrap up but this time around they still have 2 bands on queue at 1:30 in the morning. Also, they were cutting performances. I mean, the host would come out all of a sudden during a short pause thinking the performance is done but yeah I think they were rushing things already. Oh well.

who's haggard?
I have duty in the morning so we really have to go home so we did.  That's about my Paskuhan experience guys. See yah!

UST in December

UST in December
So I have told you guys about my previous will to visit my favorite alma mater and guess what? I have accomplished that days after that wish. Pretty proud of my self LOL. Anyways. As expected, it's enchanted and just beautiful as it is. I actually thought that it would be a little bit more peaceful though but anyways. The thing is they were actually having an event so we stopped for a while.

Main Building

I prefer seeing the Main Building on its own but since they were having a program and the stage is like at the center, I failed. But it was still beautiful as always.

I actually don't know if I am more impressed now or last year but thing is they have a different theme sort of each year but there's just some things worth appreciating than others that's all I can say.

Quadricentennial
Oh anyways as I was telling you guys awhile ago, there was like a center stage set up right? My cousin and I were like, what is this sorcery? So when we read the tarpaulin thingy that they have there, I instantly saw SPONGE COLA! And you know what that means! I may have told you that they are my fave BAND and yeah I was like, this day is meant to be.

Yael of Sponge Cola
It was a solid 4 song gig that we enjoyed so much and it has been a while since I had a gig with them. I think it was actually when I had an accidental gig so yeah.

I think this is my favorite part because this is just pretty and like people are just everywhere and who doesn't love to see people? Me. But that's besides the point. They have like pretty lanterns and lights.

What is this though?
Seriously they have like a lot of this and I was like, what? Why? LOL. It was nice to see them though. I mean kind of refreshing to see something different almost.

Cat with the unknown thing
You gotta have your green!
JUMP SHOT :))
I think besides watching the bands, we spend our time mostly by taking the perfect jump shots and trust me, I have a lot of fail jump shots and it made us laugh for a good amount of time. LOL.

the infamous Christmas Tree
I think this is like the closest I got to the tree on an ordinary day. Let me just make it clear that it's not actually a tree. It's like a woody thing set up and they somehow managed to make that triangular thing that looks like a tree. I make no sense. But I know you understand. Thanks.

UP CLOSE
Again, I don't what each of these means. It looks like a smiling lips though. Or a double banana for that matter. LOL. I therefore conclude that it's better just to look at it than to interpret.

Purty!
Mi
I really enjoyed roaming around and just walking and looking at the lights and stuff. It's actually a bonus since I don't have exams to think about and stuff so yeah. As I've said, I don't want to compare it from last year or like the past 4 years of decorations because yeah it's just different and incomparable each year. I'm now officially excited for Pasukan 2013 to happen. I bet it's gonna be awesome. See yah later!

Oath Taking for New Med Techs

Oath Taking for New Med Techs

Hola guys! I just want to share with you what happened awhile ago. Well awhile ago, the Oath Taking for Newly Registered Medical Technologist happened. I am pretty sure I showed you guys the tickets I bought last time. I feel kind of bad that I don't have a picture with my mom. Well except that one that was taken by a "professional" photographer well actually, maybe just camera. I have to have a rant by the way but I just want this blog post alone to be somehow full of good memories so I'll just skip that part for now. So basically I was confused whether or not to attend the ceremony but okay here's the thing, if you don't need your license as in physically yet, you can choose not to attend. Not really mandatory. But you have to take your pledge somewhere else. PRC.

The lady at the counter when I bought tickets told me that I have to be at the venue at 7 and I was there at 7. Luckily, I saw 3 other inductees before me so I was not feeling that bad at all. They opened the venue at around 8:30 and basically made us wait for like ever. I should have done my hair first instead of rushing straight to the venue so early in the morning.  Anyways.

gotta deal with messy hair
The first friend I saw was Fai. She was in the same review center as I and like not at all hard to be friends with so we get along quite well. It was awesome to see her.

Dea, myself, and Kim
I am so proud of my girls! These girls are my co-interns/post mates from my second internship and actually, Kim right there made it to the second rank. Good job Kim!

myself and Krizzuh
Also my co-intern since the beginning of internship and my post mate on my second in. Also, my fourth year classmate so we're pretty much together at those times and yeah, we had so much fun awhile ago like talking and catching up and somehow clapping randomly and stuff LOL. And also taking pictures! :D

THUMBS UP FOR TWO CUPS OF COFFEE! :)
Dela Cruz E.A., 2013

So the food. I was so ready to get disappointed. But actually, it's not THAT disappointing. I mean, it won't make you full but it's not totally rubbish at all. It's not that pleasing but it's quite okay. Some people from the upper batch said that the food is not like delicious and stuff but it's okay. Just don't expect much. I actually had two cups of coffee so I'm quite happy.

Oh also! I have noticed that the venue's lighting is so poor that we got excited about the ladies room's lighting. Weird. LOL. I really wished they set up more lights there. It's just so inconvenient especially when reading the pledge and stuff.

myself, Jam, and Jay
That's all for this entry guys. I don't know what to feel about it. I'm quite happy that I attended but at the same time was so doubtful about the fee I paid. I could have bought 4 new mascaras or something but yeah. I just wish they would improve their program and stuff because honestly, people got bored and was just talking to each other and stuff and as much as I don't blame them, I kind of blame them for not coming up with a more interesting program. I don't know.

I actually went there for this. Because I want to have it already and since I have been practicing the profession without these on my hands, it's more of an obligation for me to attend and pledge and stuff so yeah. I had fun.

Getting Touristy at UST

June 07, 2013 1
Getting Touristy at UST
If you have been with me for some time, you may have known that I am from The University of Santo Tomas which I'm really proud of by the way and I can't imagine myself being an alumni of a different institution. I don't mean to offend any schools of course. It's just a matter of preference. So last week, I went back to check and to run some errands that I would be needing for the board exam application and shiz like that but mostly to check and take some pictures and stuff like that. Well of course! Actually, I wasn't able to accomplish paper works because of stuff so I'll definitely come back for that soon.

IN FRONT OF THE MAIN BUILDING NOT THE CHURCH
I'm pretty sure I have a picture the same as this but I don't know. Just kidding! I'm not sure. Never sure on anything these past few days, eh? So I kind of already saw the things (major letterings) I am about to show you guys below but only in pictures so when I saw it in person, I was like, excited because come on! When will I be able to go to UST with these on? With no students? Not anytime soon. So yeah we took an ample amount of pictures!

What I liked about this trip is that since there's no regular classes, there's literally just the two of us (my cousin and I) most of the time. Precious!

I'm not gonna talk about my med issues to you but this one is pretty nice. I have an issue with the general idea of this though. I'm kind of bothered by the way they spelled the things because as you can see from above, it's like this MEd. Why though? Can't spell properly, huh?

I CHOSE TO FEATURE THIS BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS BEEN HER DREAM TO BECOME ONE.

Okay so for some reason, I wasn't able to go out the arc just yet. But I kind of lost my interest in doing that but I might do it soon. And if  I do, I want it to be dramatic. LOL. You're probably thinking what the heck I'm talking about but it's like a tradition for first year students to enter the arch of the centuries and then exit upon graduation but then again I wasn't able to exit due to some unknown reasons so there you go.

REPRESENT! :D

This is probably the most exciting part of the trip. Like, I was so surprised that they placed this kind of seat and then I asked my cousin why is she not excited and she said she's pretty sure I'm the only one who got excited with the existence of this thingy. I'm pretty sure not! I don't know if this is like a permanent thing though. Because things come and go. LOL. True story. Anyways, it was such a fun experience to go back there. UST will always be my home away from home.

Bond of Blood | Mother's Day Celebration

Bond of Blood | Mother's Day Celebration
GRAYISH BAY

We actually decided to stop by because our reservation is at 6 pm and we kind of left the house earlier than we should be so I guess it's a WIN-WIN situation. What I think about the Manila Bay now, you ask? It's still hella dirty and I don't know whether or not it will be better than that but then again, it kind of improved its situation comparing it from the last time I visited.

The smell of the bay is still horrible and not suitable but again, I don't know if that's even what they have to deal with but with a clean bay, it would follow, yeah?

SOMEONE IS JUST FEELING IT
AI have to say though! That the barrier's definitely higher and I remember ranting about that here, I don't know whether they're reading my blog or maybe they're just as brilliant as I am or whatever. Kidding of course!

Here with my grandma and my two sisters

My first plate! I know this looks unappetizing right now but these are good! :) Anyways, that's all I have to share with you right now! Good vibes!
