Ebisu Illumination 2017

Ebisu Illumination 2017

Selfieee

Ebisu. I’ve been to Ebisu before of course. It’s two stations away from my work in Tokyo and I always feel like I don’t have time so I always go to nearby places. Very convenient though because I work in Tokyo. Lucky if you may.

the Christmas Tree that I missed in 2016

Ebisu

magical

What I missed last year was the Christmas Tree. It’s still fine but it made me realize that ones absence may feel okay but it’s better when it’s complete. Saveh!!

Also!!! They had this choir thing going on when I went and man, I stood there in the freezing cold and watched aaaaallllllll the performances. It was worth it though for sure!!! Okay one of the reasons I completed the choir was because they really lifted my spirit. But also because if I won’t, I wouldn’t be able to go near the chandelier. Charot! The Chandelier, has one light bulb added to it from the last time I went so that’s nice. I mean, not that I noticed. Haha

Yas. I may have said this before but you know, I’m really looking forward to come back to this place 30 years from now. But you know, that’s just 30 lights added so I really don’t know if that would make significant difference. But hey~

Also, at this point, I don’t have any battery left but I survived taking photos. Yay! It’s not the best place to see illumination but it’s not bad! If you’re nearby, make sure you drop by.

Shibuya Illumination 2017

Shibuya Illumination 2017

As usual, I didn't expect much from Shibuya because of what I witnessed last year. I don't know if I shared with you the photo but it was this sad green lights put on the tree same as above so yeah. This year showed a little improvement so let's give Shibuya that.

This year's team is HELLO KITTY. Okay first of all, I have absolutely no idea why the tourist information bus' character is Kitty because you know, Sanrio isn't anywhere near and stuff. ALSO! Why can't they just use Hachiko's face? It's SHIBUYA after all. Okay.

But you know, who am I to tell Shibuya what to do, aye? Anyways this Hello Kitty thing. I can't. You all know how I love Shibuya and its wonders but Shibuya is not ready for it yet.

Maybe because Shibuya doesn't have a lot of places to do this kind of displays but yeah. I'm not saying that this is not good. It's good! I just hope there's more of this. I think. The ribbon is cute! I think big ribbon ornaments like this would enlighten everyone of the theme they're doing.

SHIBUYA

This is what I'm talking about. Shibuya is big but it's soo not united when it comes to illumination so it somehow feels divided. If they want to do Kitty, then everywhere should be Kitty. But anyways. I'm sure it was already discussed upon and maybe something not everyone agreed on so yeah let's just pretend that's what happened.

Also, the right side. Somebody didn't get the notice, obviously. WHY THOUGH. Anyways, I still love SHIBUYA.

Roppongi Illumination 2017

Roppongi Illumination 2017

Roppongi. I went with my co-worker Shella to Roppongi brcause you know, it’s one of the places I don’t dare go alone. Kind of.

We were kind of lost at first but the thing about illumunation in Japan is that you can get lost and still find something beautiful to appreciate. This green and red tree for example. The transition.

Then this already transitioned tree which is equally as beautiful! But you know, it’s probably just me.

We actually targeted two illumination spots in Roppongi and this is the first one. They had this show of something I can’t fully understand but it was beautiful.

It’s like the one in Shiodome but less magical. I’m so sorry Roppongi. It’s probably just me.

It was still beautiful though.

Roppongi

Candle and Amber is the theme of Keyakizaka-Dori. I didn’t understand Candle because it’s just blue but they had Candle and Amber tree which makes a little sense.

Christmas Tree

My Blogger Friend

Tokyo Tower as usual was so beautiful.

Keyakizaka-Dori

Yas! Be careful when you go to this street. You have to actually stop in the middle of the street just to take this type of picture. Beware.

Tokyo Tower

I can’t decide which I like better. Two scenes are both beautiful though so whatevs.

Oh Tokyo!

So beautiful! Hopefully I’d be able to go back next year. Too bad I wouldn’t be able to see it when I come back. I guess this ends December 25 so you know, if you have a chance, grab it.

Shinjuku Illumination 2017

Shinjuku Illumination 2017

Shortly after my Akihabara trip, I went to Shinjuku hoping it would be colorful again. It was colorful 3 years ago. It was pink again like it was last year. I’m not complaining. Much.

It was still very nice. I mean, if it’s the season, it’s always nice to appreciate all the little things like this. I mean, looking at it, it’s actually slightly different. Also, the Marine Tower is lit this season!

Also, I swear I’ve seen it lit in green and gold/orange.

It was pretty in pink!

At this very point, I was very sleepy but I was so happy!

Also, not so far away from the Southern Terrace, are small places with lights on as well.

Also, they added hearts!

2 hearts.

I don’t know if it was present last year but they also had this thing going on outside the new Shinjuku Station.

It was pretty in blue.

Also, this drink. It was okay. You know, I don’t really like raspberry in general but this candied raspberry thing is good.

They also have this pathway that I have no one to walk with but it was all good! ;)

Then this one. I have no idea. That’s all!

Akihabara Illumination 2017

Akihabara Illumination 2017

I think I have mentioned before that I don’t really have a business to do in Akihabara which have not changed yet as of this writing but ya know you gotta go where you gotta go! I actually went to buy a laptop and I knew they have a mini illumination
thingy going on and so yeah! It was cute.

They have this illumination thing going on very near the station. It was actually the first kick of this year’s illumination post so I was really very excited.

Akihabara has its charm. I probably just haven’t discovered it yet. I mean, most people I ask usually say it’s their fave spot in Tokyo. How wrong they can be, right?

Surprisingly, this is my favorite thing in the whole set-up. It’s very simple but I like it.

mini trees

This Christmas Tree shaped structure seems to be the highlight of the illumination. It did not disappoint.

It’s not extravagant whatnot but it’s something. It’s actually just outside of a big building there and with all the stress from work, I bet it’s nice to pack-up and see something like this.

There are more colors of course. It’s for you to see though! See you! Bye~
