Fuji-Q Highland 2017

Fuji-Q Highland 2017

At last!! I wanted to go here for the longest time and so glad I did! I was actually supposed to go with beshy Glaiza and her sister but you know, family! :D So glad I caught up with her in Harajuku though.

As you may all know, we live in the beautiful (?) province of Sagamihara and to get to Shizuoka, it took us about 2 hours I think. Actually, it took us a little longer because Google Maps. Pahamak ka GIRLY ha!

Pimples, when will you leave me alone?

So we arrived around 11:30 already and we were all panicking because the park closes 5:00. In Tokyo, everything starts at 6 basically so it weirds me out. Also, they have 4 World Records FFS! Extend extend din!

So yeah. The first ride destroyed us. Well, Mika and I. Because we were riding the water splash thing, aye? We even bought raincoats so we won't get wet and all. When we were about to drop, I was trying hard to put the hood on but then it all happened quickly and the next thing I know, my hair's wet already. Mika got it worst! She wet her top and all! Then we have our sister Mari sitting pretty and dry basically.

We were able to ride 2 out 4 of the deadliest coasters or something though. The one being the longest and tallest and the other one the steepest. Man, we died. My sister Mari thought she'd pass out and all and I was there laughing at her. We missed 1 during that day and that one would be the roller coaster with the most rotation. The other record holder is under maintenance so we can't really do anything about that. Fastest roller coaster at lauch.

They have few horror houses that are dead terrifying. But then it closes at like 1 or something so of course we weren't able to go. Man, who does that???? They have in here the longest horror house I think.

Mt.Fuji, you're the star.

You already know.

Lunch time! My sisters had ramen and I had Loco Moco burger thing. For some reason, I always see myself going for something more Hawaiian. Is this a sign?

It was so hot that day so we ended lunch with a cup of ice cream. Choco mint for life!

You know, despite all the bad things I had to say, I really enjoyed my stay. It was a nice park.

I hope to be back soon! We know better. Go a lot earlier! And probably not on a Monday.

So yeah, that's it. Bye!

Flowers and Blooms

Flowers and Blooms

There are two things in Japan that I am always looking forward to. Sakura and Illuminations. Earlier this month, I got a chance to see at least 10 Sakura trees in full bloom and I couldn't be more thankful. Of course it's nothing compared to Nakameguro, Ueno, and somewhere else (yet!) but it was so glorious! I actually remember last year, about February, it was for already showing some action so I guess that trees here in general bloom earlier than others.

Oh how I wish I had somebody take pictures but this will do, aye? I guess I'd be the photographer from now on. #duties!

Sakura

happy me

hey there little one

Also, can I just mention that I rode my bike from my apartment to our house to this park. Man, somebody give me a medal or something. And l brought a lot of things with me so that added weight to my already heavy self. Also, Google Maps made me go thru this mountain high road and I was like, no! Before that road, I kind of knew the way from there but I was like, you kidding me, Google Maps? Am I wrong or something? So I followed Google Maps anyways because they seem like a very reliable company that I am anyways. The way I know is not as dramatic as this road they're leading me into. Story of my life in general. Anyways.

Gorgeous Colors

Unique

I got there and it was beautiful as expected. Childhood! I'm so glad that after 25 years, I'm still in love with this place. There were quite a lot of people for a Tuesday afternoon. Lots of kids in the playground. They also had an exhibit at the greenhouse that so happy I checked because it was so gorgeous!

Also, I noticed that the fountains were on and I was like, what? Are they doing fountains now? So being the nosey person I am, I asked the lady standing there and she was like, oh we're shooting a drama for NHK and I was like, can I go in? And she was like, it's okay! Just be careful when crossing the ramp. So yeah I went in and 2 handsome guy was about to cross the ramp for a scene and I guess they were surprised to see me and I was like, dedma! So yeah there's that. Ciao!

Conveniently just 15 minutes away from work, I decided to go after my shift and was left in surprise with what I saw. Well nothing there yet when I arrived because it's quite early but you get the point. When the clock chimed at 5pm, everything suddenly turned pink. It was magical.

Pink Lights

Supposed to look like Sakura trees and it did not fail. Loved its water reflection even.

I'm sure professional photographers would just laugh at the shot above but I was quite impressed with this little failure to focus shot as I would like to call it.

I felt like a princess walking around her own garden for a sec.

I actually wonder if they're Sakura trees. I bet it's just as beautiful during Spring. I should be back!

Fairy tale-ish trail. I was impressed with this place because you know, very quiet because for some reason, one little thing I hate about Tokyo is that it's kind of touristy and I find it really hard to breathe sometimes and maybe I don't make sense (just because) but yeah this place is really subtle and peaceful and not crowded at all! Ciao!

Dinner for one

March 13, 2015 1
Dinner for one

I have been living in Japan for 11 months now. I'm almost used to eating alone which is great but then kinda sad too but that's not the point. Sometimes I just think of it as a blessing because not all people can eat outside.

Yesterday, I went to Tokyo to look for something and I actually planned to eat there but since it's already late, and it's rush hour, almost all the places were full and so I decided to eat at my station's Saizeriya.

This is what I ended up with. Lately, I've been craving for rice. I tried to avoid eating rice for a while (a week). Then vaguely, I ordered hamburger. Like, before, I used to really like hamburger steaks but then I realize that I am more into the real steak but yeah sometimes it's good to turn back.

I really enjoyed my meal. See yah!
