Kimono in Asakusa

April 03, 2020 0
Kimono in Asakusa

I didn’t think I’d come to this point. I wore this for dad. For myself too. Mostly for dad though. And I didn’t think I’d like it to the point where I’d wear it again. But I definitely will. In Kyoto, dad. If I ever go there again. Anyways, we actually stayed at a Capsule Hotel which is sooo nice! I mean, Japan is just cleaner, in my opinion. The one in Dotonbori is not as clean but that’s even better than the one we stayed at in Korea. Or Hong Kong. Anyways. We started early morning and took a lot of pictures already. I booked through the Klook app which is what I always do and yeah it’s just convenient. Anyways, before the Kimono stuff these are the pictures that we took.

Because we came early in the morning, there weren’t a lot of people around yet so it’s like seeing the place at a different perspective. It was refreshing!

This is just some random shot that I took which I don’t even know what signifies or whatever.

I have been here not more than 6 times my lifetime and yeah although I’m not really a fan of the city, which comprises mostly of small Japanese souvenir shops and all, this trip was fulfilling in a sense. I can’t explain it but there’s something about this place that I can’t explain. If you’re a tourist, by all means, drop by this place because there are a lot to see! Literally.

Mikie minus the attitude!

We also stopped at this chicken place where I asked mama just to share but she insisted and bought two still. It was not that good. It’d be perfect for sharing though. I don’t know. Maybe because I just had onigiri and coffee before I had this but it’s too much in my opinion. It’s not bad though. Still okay. So to the kimono place we go! Actually we stopped at Don Quijote where we bought a lot of stuff still but anyways.

The 500 yen chicken. Can I just say that it is now discouraged to walk while eating. I mean, it’s always common courtesy for the Japanese people to find a table or something but I guess it’s that time where everyone is always in a rush and it is more acceptable to eat while walking now but anyways back to the point. They have signage discouraging people to walk while eating. Maybe because of the pigeons? They tend to poop everywhere maybe so yeah I’m not sure really.

My mom took a lot of decent photos! In fairness to her. DSLR is intimidating I know, but my mom nailed it. I was giving her attitude for no reason at all! My goodness.

If you’re gonna rent a Kimono, I suggest going to places like this because there are lots of places you can have your picture taken given you’ll go early because not much photobombers of course.

Cute!

I want to say sorry to my mom though, I feel like I’ve given her a lot of attitude. I don’t know why. She didn’t do anything per se. I was just sooo moody that time that even I, myself noticed. Sorry mama.

Mikie plus my attitude

Even though it was obvious that I’m being rude to her, this is my mom smiling at the picture. I’m so sorry mama. Bless your heart. That’s all you, guys. Asakusa was fun! Ciao!

Day 3.2 | Petite France, Common Ground, Dinner

November 27, 2019 0
Day 3.2 | Petite France, Common Ground, Dinner
After our short trip to the island, we headed back to the mainland and had lunch! So delicious! Now time for Petit France! I liked the timing of our trip here because the moment we arrived, the puppet show started and it was very entertaining! I would recommend it to everyone!

Yes, mademoiselle?

Petite France is a very colorful place! I like it! I really wish we were able to stay much longer because FRANCE!

There are many attractions that were closed though but still! I will include this on my next trip to SEOUL! Or will I return? WHO KNOWS?

The view was okay. Not so fantastic so to speak!

Since it was not the season, there was nothing special about this but imagine this sooo full of roses, right? It would have been soo sick!

Je Taime!

Again, it was very colorful! Very interesting. I definitely enjoyed my stay there! Since it was still early to call it a day, we went to The Common Ground as planned. We got lost of course.

We were supposed to eat here but then there’s no Korean place that we like so we were like, let’s just find some Korean place to eat along the way.

Dinner. It was actually good but not as good as the first barbecue place that we went to in Hongdae. We were so full I can’t even.

The alley that we went to find food at. It was sketchy to be honest but it’s good to be lost in a place like this when in Seoul.

Appetizers!

Food!

Kimchi rice that we weren’t able to finish! Sorry we can’t find anymore space so yeah! That’s all!

Club Morocco | Company Outing!

November 02, 2019 0
Club Morocco | Company Outing!

Hola! We went to Subic for our company outing and for this year, CLUB MOROCCO. I mean, it's only my first (and probably last) but we're not mad. We love some free leisure time. Thankful for this.

I was so excited to go since I haven't really been out swimming for almost a year so we love some pool time, you know. They have three swimming pools which are all nice. There is a slide pool, infinity pool, and a wave pool!

LOBBY AREA

I promise I have pants on. It's actually a very nice place to visit. I mean, I probably won't go there by myself or like if I can decide on my own, I probably won't choose this place because it's not that kind of place. It's too lonely almost. Maybe not! It's probably just me. But we move on to the rooms. Not the cleanest. Or RELAXING. It's good for like a place to sleep but not for isolating yourself from the tiring and busy life that you have.

Of course I went down the slide! SOOO GOOD!

INFINITY POOL

Loved this! This is probably my favorite pool there.

The beach. Not at any way swimmable which I hate because I'd rather swim here than the pool but it seemed like the water is contaminated/polluted by oil or something. Bummer. It has a nice view though! If it were clean, I might actually go back here because it's not populated and all but sorry.

NEVER TOO EARLY

WORK MATES

I want to thank my employers for making us eat 5 times a day and for the unlimited drinks! Again, not in any way fancy or a luxury or something but it was really filling! Thank you guys.

US ALL!

Our bosses are rich. That's all.

Hey, Kobe!

March 06, 2019 0
Hey, Kobe!
Kobe. I actually didn't plan on going here at first but ended up going last minute because I had the afternoon free. Lucky!

I actually went here to eat Kobe Beef where it really originated but failed because there were a lot of places to choose from so I didn't choose. Ate something else instead.

Kobe is okay.

I heard it's so beautiful at night though but I didn't stay that long because I think I was there around 1-ish and the lights turn on around 5 so I decided not to stick around because I got nothing to do tbh. I'm so sure I'm doing this all wrong though but my first timer self told me to just say goodbye and go.

I was disappointed. I mean, I'm so sure it doesn't supposed to taste like that almost but whatever.

I was actually supposed to ride this thing but didn't pursue. Nobody else but a couple was in so I was like, nope. Also, they were playing love songs! That would be awkward. Also, as you may have noticed, it was kind of cloudy because it was raining so the view was not that good from below so I don't think it would be much different way up.

Saw this on my way back to Central Osaka. Oh well. Can't relate. I want to be back here soon! With a better plan of course. I guess that because it's so sudden, I wasn't as prepared as I'd like to be so the places I went to are probably not the places a normal tourist would want to go so...Also, KOBE BEEF. That's all!

Hi, Dotonbori.

March 02, 2019 0
Hi, Dotonbori.

Oh my Osaka, you’re definitely sweeter the 3rd time around. I keep telling everyone from my family that if I ever return to Japan, I’ll be returning here. I don’t know. It feels like I belong here you know. I mean, I belong in Harajuku too but you know, I feel like Osaka is where it’s at.

This is my first trip to Osaka that is not work related!! Gracious goodness. As much as I enjoyed working in Osaka, I admit that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did this time.

I ate my heart out!! It was insane! Everything was so delicious! This I got from the place that I went to the first two times.

Glico sign at night. Why not.

Selfie

I think my favorite time to visit Dotonbori is around 5am. You know, when it's still all empty and untouched. One thing I hate about going around the area that time is seeing the cleaning personnel cleaning up the mess! Like, can we be more civilized, people?

One thing I also like the morning is I can take selfies like this because this place get crowded af at peak hours.

Beautiful

My favorite! I ate them too before and I ate it still. Will definitely eat them again! Why are scallops so delicious?!

Also a place that I have already tried before. GOOD!

Famous ramen shop in Osaka for some reason.

Ramen that is quite famous in Dotonbori street. I don't really recommend. It is basic.

Selfie before heading to Nara. Official goodbye selfie.

The Ramen! So delicious! The shop I got it from claims that the shop is where Osaka ramen started. I mean, okay, fine by me because it taste good enough for other people to copying from them thank you very much.
