Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 2

May 31, 2013 2
Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 2

1. I believe I got these Kisses from my mom together with some other stuff on my 20th Birthday. My likey chocolates! But not as much as Blueberry Cheesecake! Okay never mind. LOL. Can I just share that in Japan, or even in Korea and probably some other places, it's the ladies' job to make chocolates to the guy they like but in the Philippines, it's kind of the reverse so it's somehow interesting. I remember my Hidemi told me a story about her making a guy mini chocolates but didn't give it because when she asked another friend to taste it, the friend told her that it looks like poop. LOL. On another note, I guess I'm just very lucky that I always get something on Valentine's Day. Of course! It's my birthday. Back to the Kisses though, as much as like almonds, I think I enjoyed the Cookies 'n' Creme more.

2. This is during our first internship, Histology-Pathology department. I probably told you many times that this is my favorite post. And I miss my post mates! This shot is taken when they're mounting the specimens whilst I'm preparing the gum labels. Oh can we just spot on that one guy who's just being nosey and not doing anything? LOL.  And the only girl is MTLEX March 2013's Top 5. And yay for the mangoes! I really like how homey this place is. It's like being at home away from home while having internship. I don't really remember getting tired or like going home tired when I was still in this post. One more kwento is that one day, I lost my internship nameplate and I am certain that it was on my uniform because I remember like seeing it but like at the end of the day, when Tin and I are on our way out, I was like, there's something missing. And then I noticed that my black nameplate is gone. Tin and I then searched for it but come on! It was nighttime and let alone the nameplate is black so we really had a hard time and I just said that we should just stop. I remember I was off the next day and Tin wouldn't be around since it's their seminar day at school so I asked another post mate to ask the staff whether they saw it on the floor or something but I didn't get anything so I though I lost it. Which would suck because that would mean I have to have it done and that I would have to pay again. So come Thursday, after our usual morning routine, the senior staff was like, "hey, Kim! we saw your nameplate on the floor the other night". I then turned around to this post mate who I asked a favor to and he was like, "sorry, I forgot to ask them". LOL. Good times!

3. Eating Krispy Kreme on our last day of duty. We are both actually from night duty but for some reason, she managed to stay and celebrate the thing but I was like, nah, I'm going to sleep. Actually, I think I was the only one from the night duty group who went home. Sorry! So yeah I think I had two pieces of doughnuts. Oh this one is kind of related to number 2. He was actually the one who brought in the doughnuts!

4. Still connected to number 3! Okay I got this before our Tuesday class at UST and I don't know but this is kind of very dramatic but I swear she was like back to her jolly self when she heard the shutter sound.  Jam is actually my group mate during our first internship and I really didn't expect that we would be kind of close friends. Well, I didn't expect anyone to be my friend to be fair so whatever. But yeah, she's so nice and fun to be with. Totally unrelated now, can I just say that I hate the fact that iPhone camera's shutter sound can't be turned down or off. What an ANTI-STALKER DEVICE. Silent feature of the phone doesn't make sense then. What a shame.

Dr. Ted Grey is LOVE

Dr. Ted Grey is LOVE

If all PATHOLOGISTS look like this, GURL! Haha so just a little back story, I think I was first year in college when this movie came out and we were at the mall, right? I saw the showing date and then we intended to watch it (of course) and then we couldn't make it on the first day so we just decided to come back the other day but then when we returned, they're not showing it na. WHUT? Anyways, I illegally downloaded the movie and watched it just now and what can I say? Kind of weird for a game, you know. Basically they have to kill people but not just to kill! They have to do it in such a way that no one would know how exactly they did it. It's sort of a game that them resident pathologists play. And I'm kind of proud that I got one out of so many. I'm not PATHO (yet, perhaps). So yeah. I wouldn't go into detail but I am very impressed with the ending.

I actually witnessed doctors play games probably twice. Not this kind of games where they kill people of course. They probably wouldn't let us know about that but what I witnessed was one time, I received a specimen for pregnancy test, right? And then two physicians went straight to the laboratory (which is not always legal) and waited for the result. And when I said NEGATIVE, one of them said "YES! I WON". And then one time, the bet was to guess the TURN AROUND TIME of a CBC result for a particular patient and stuff so yeah.

Oh and speaking of PATHOLOGY, I forgot to post these pictures from our last duty feast at the PATHOLOGY OFFICE.

Our last night duty so we decided to have a little celebration. Ordered buttered and garlic chicken, pancit, Shanghai rolls, cake, and ice cream.

Performance!

December 18, 2012 1
Performance!
So we had our hospital Christmas Party last Friday and part of the program was like, a performance from each laboratory section. Our theme was DANCE DANCE DANCE so I guess it wouldn't be hard to guess what we did. Because one criteria for winning is actually relevance to the theme. Whatever. LOL.

Kim and I haha. We actually performed first so I really ate as fast I could just so you know. I don't know.

Food was actually great. Like, we had LECHON, some pork, chicken, and rice. Too bad I wasn't able to eat deserts. Like, every group actually brought something for desert and I believe ours brought cupcakes but after our performance, we actually extracted blood from patients upstairs already so whatever.

Thanks to a friend who actually took the pictures above. Like, he's not from our hospital but visited us anyways. And if you can recognize that guy on the first picture, yup! My previous post mate from my first internship. Not from my hospital now as well. Hahaha

Our group in action. Like, aren't we cute? Yup! We are. Hahaha just kidding.

This is my post mates. Like, I'm so proud of us really. We really did a good job.

We actually didn't win first place but it's really good to know that people enjoyed our performance and even the winning group was actually shocked that we didn't win. Right before our performance, we actually said that even if we loose, we should still be happy because we had fun dancing and practicing and all that. So yeah.

Pathology Grand Duty.

August 22, 2012 0
Pathology Grand Duty.
As far as I don't want my HistoPath post rotation to end, it happened. Oh well. Sometimes we just have to stick to the idea that some good things don't really last. Whatever! So I really like Histo-Path not because of lesser work load or stuff. It's the people! Like, there are four Medical Technologists in that post and they are all nice to work with. The pathologists are all nice as well. Like, they won't pressure you to get things done and stuff. But of course, that doesn't mean that you don't have to do it. It's like, giving you time to do things.

Meet my post mates! :) Just because the flood was pretty bad that time, one member wasn't able to come. So it's not like grand-grand duty.

So to celebrate the unwanted event of moving out of the post, we decided to have a little gathering. How weird. LOL.

And some fresh fruits and cake! Meet sir Fil. The head med tech for Histo-Path. He's cool as eff I swear.

So yeah. I really miss this post! :(

Life crisis.

August 19, 2012 0
Life crisis.

There are just too many stuff going on right now. Thesis, internship, UAAP, life, just kidding!! LOL. I'm serious about the first two though. A little bit about the UAAP. Well, it's 6 wins, 1 loss so whatever. Like, can we just win this season? UST? Oh well. Go USTe!

Anyways. I know time flies so fast and I'll get over these problems soon. That thought sort of inspires me and keeps me going. Somehow. BUT THE THING IS...

I'm a little bit worried too. Kind of. I think I've mentioned this before. But that's kind of another story. What I'm worried about is that the fact that I'm thinking that these will be over soon and stuff and to be honest, I'm looking forward to it (like a lot). I'm worried that because I'm so looking forward to the future, I might miss stuff that's happening right now. But then thinking about it, I filter a lot of stuff.  Because I'm good like that. LOL. Anyways. It's not that I'm gonna take the easy way out and stuff anyway. I mean, nothing like that. I'm gonna face these problems with all my might and all that. Because I firmly believe that I can do it. With that on mind, of course I can do it. Enough of the problems! Below is a collage of internship stuff and I'm just so happy that I've been through a lot already. More to come!

As of this moment, I am already in hematology section and so far, is it the most toxic post I've been! It's DENGUE season now so yeah, people are having their blood checked and all that stuff. But whatever. :)
