UST #PaskuhanForever

December 28, 2015 0
UST #PaskuhanForever

I always look forward to Paskuhan. I wasn't able to go last year so I was looking forward to attending this one. And I'm still debating whether I enjoyed or not. Okay maybe I'm being too harsh. Just gotta say I did.

UST MAIN BUILDING at its best. That time, they invited peeps from Panasonic and they planned to turn the Main Building in some sort of a projector and so we waited for like 20 minutes or show before the "show".

SQUAD GOALS

Kudos to us for actually being extra patient and accomplishing everything.

This is when they were just calibrating the projectors. It was actually already really pretty that time. We weren't in the best position to appreciate the show fully but it was awesome nonetheless.

Basically the show was about the Nativity. Then the spirit of giving and all that.

Can I just say that after this projection thing, there was some sort of a stampede. I don't really get some people who "attend" Paskuhan but don't really bother watching any of it. Like, people who just stay in the CAR PARK LANE. Yup! 7 years, same problem. And yes, that caused the stampede. Which leads me to my second point.

SMILING THROUGH THE CROWD

Different events, different venues. So much hassle. Basically, we needed to move from the Main Building to the Practice Gym, to the Grandstand, then back to the gym again. Why? I get that it's muddy and all that but that's not the point! Two years ago, the same thing happened and we survived the muddy grandstand. Sort of. Also, to top it all off, it was raining that time so moving around was made more difficult. HASSLE. HASSLE.

BAYMAX THOUGH

This post is becoming more of a rant but you know, please understand that this is what's on my mind.

But you know, I still kept my cool. Kind of. Hahaha. I was actually a little bit worried because it rained hard during the fireworks so I thought they're gonna stop the presentation at some point but nah.

UST Paskuhan Fireworks 2015

The fireworks was predictably awesome but lacked in music. I was expecting a pyromusical but should have went to a different place if I wanted that perfected so yeah. I still think the other years' display were better. Anyways, after the fireworks, we went back to the gym and our initial position, the front, was already occupied. We barely can see the stage at this time. Meh.

At the end, it was great. Not my favorite out of the 7 Paskuhans that I've witnessed but you know, it doesn't have to be the same all the time anyways. Ciao!

UST Paskuhan 2013

UST Paskuhan 2013

Hi guys! I want to share what happened during PASKUHAN! And man I tell you! It was not glamorous at all. Not pretty! Like, quite messy but fun in some ways. I have been attending Paskuhan for quite a while now and I think this is not the best that I have been. Let's start from the start. We arrived really really early for the occasion. Say, 4 pm? The Paskuhan is not until 7 so we really tried our best to beat our own record. I think our earliest time is around 5 ish. So since we were early, we decided to have merienda first.

cousin and I
sister dear

We went to Santorini! Again, that might not be any News to you at all since you probably know by now that I love going there. Also, we had some milkshakes from Indulgence.  And then we went back to the field. I tell you it was rather a very rainy Paskuhan. Like to the point where we weren't able to use the newspapers (to sit on) I prepared. It's just a floody/muddy mess.

It all started with a mass and during the mass, I was really hoping that the rain would stop immediately. It didn't fail me. That much. It continued raining for a while after the mass and stopped for good after probably an hour.

I really really feel so bad that we left during the mass but we didn't really mean it. We're just avoiding getting wet and probably sick. We didn't leave as in leave though. We stayed on the pavement where there are trees to shelter us sort of.

this is all we get
And this Paskuhan is really different because there's no fireworks and stuff but the priest told us that it wouldn't be a Paskuhan without Fireworks so this happened.

HAPPY US
Main Building is Gorgeous!

After the mass, we gladly went back on track. And what's nice in this year's Paskuhan is that there are few mono blocks and I guess we were lucky to be able to get some for ourselves. One thing I really wanted to achieve each Paskuhan is to get closer in front. Like, god knows how far we were on stage for like 4-5 years and yeah this Paskuhan is the closest we were on stage and yay for us!

this is how close we were
I would still prefer us being at the center of the field though but this is a lot better than being at the back or somewhere not in front. Quite an achievement. Can we just take a moment and appreciate the beautiful but awkwardly positioned chandelier.

Danita Paner
People would probably say Joyce Pring but I'd say Danita is the most gorgeous person I've seen on stage that night. Irrelevant information.

My favorite performer? RICO BLANCO! Like, it's not even debatable. He's just so good! The rest was also good but he's just the best. The performances were great! I don't have anything bad to say about the performances but man they really started too late.

I think it's because of the rain or something but still, it was annoying. I think they started at around 8:30 and the thing is we weren't able to finish all the performances and stuff because I was expecting a 12am wrap up but this time around they still have 2 bands on queue at 1:30 in the morning. Also, they were cutting performances. I mean, the host would come out all of a sudden during a short pause thinking the performance is done but yeah I think they were rushing things already. Oh well.

who's haggard?
I have duty in the morning so we really have to go home so we did.  That's about my Paskuhan experience guys. See yah!

December Plans and Wishes

December 04, 2013 0
December Plans and Wishes

Already December 3 today! Can you believe it? What's up guys? It's already the last month of 2013 and I only have roughly 4 months left to spend in this country. So I thought I'd share my December plans with you. Not that I have a lot though LOL.

Christmas is just around the corner so I'm looking forward to our Christmas Party. It would be around mid December and since it's the first work-related Christmas Party that I would be attending to, I'm really happy. Although I have been told that we're just gonna eat outside and not really celebrate as in celebrate, I think it would still be something something.

I want to see UST at night. I don't know but there's really something about seeing it at night on Christmas season. It kind of removes the stress from my system and I love it.

UST Annual Paskuhan is also coming up and I wouldn't dare miss that! It would be my last time for a long time so I'm quite excited for that. My aim this season is to actually go and sit somewhere in front because dude we always stay at the back and I think the closest we got to watch is like mid section only.

I am looking forward to Christmas as well. We'll go to the Church that's for certain and watch a MMFF entry probably and yeah looking forward to that.

I don't know if I would be able to go to Bataan with fam to celebrate the dad's  birthday because of duties but most likely, not. But I still want to go there though. Just to relax and enjoy life a little bit. And if you haven't seen mu blog post about that, the sunset there is phenomenal.

Also, if lucky, I want to visit some falls which is like away from the city but not too far from here. It's not yet too mainstream so I want to get there before it's too late sort of. That's all for my December plans guys! It's not too much but I just want to share it with you. That's all guys.

And oh! One last thing before I go, I will try my very best to blog every other day this month. I'm doing good so far by blogging everyday! And hopefully I would be able to keep up with you as much as I managed to do for the first three days of this month so far. Alrighty.

UST Paskuhan FIREWORKS.

December 23, 2012 1
UST Paskuhan FIREWORKS.
All iPhone pictures in case you are wondering. Because you know, I can't borrow my cousin's camera because she was using it as well.

Like, surprisingly, I was kind of impressed.

Heart the heart. Like, literally. This is like some kind of a magical moment since the song playing in this right moment was WE FOUND LOVE. Speaking of which, I kind of liked the songs they played. Like, all. I am kind of proud of myself too for the picture above. Awesum!

I am kind of disturbed because you know that optical illusion that lets you count the black dots? IT'S HAPPENING. Hahaha and I don't know if I should be annoyed or what.

Can I just say that UST did a good job in pranking us all? Like, seriously. Great job guys. If you're not there, what happened was they kind of let us count to 1 and then some crappy fireworks display happened. And there's no sound so whatever and everyone was like asking for the sound and stuff and it ended quickly. Well, it's actually not that crappy but IT WAS FAR FROM THE USUAL UST FIREWORKS DISPLAY. So whatever.

And then we kind of faced the front again right? Because the first one kind of happened behind Plaza Mayor or somewhere in that area. And the host announced something like, "THE REAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY!" and then these pictures happened.

Paskuhan 2012.

December 22, 2012 2
Paskuhan 2012.
Guess what? If you can remember, or did I even tell you? I actually forgot to charge my camera last Pasukan (2011). And then I promised myself that I'm not gonna make the same mistake again. I then charged my batteries and all that and then when I first opened the camera, NO MEMORY CARD INSERTED. WTF? Talk about luck. Like, what the fudge. So what did I do?

All thanks to my iPhone.

So that's what happened. Anyways. Good thing my cousin brought her camera so yeah. All is good.

It's actually quite unlucky for me because I kind of wanted to be in front but like, this is the best spot we can find. And it's even that near. But I must say that this spot is the nearest spot we could get so whatever.

This is us. Like, only the three of us this time. Our other friend should also be with us but she wasn't able to find us so whatever.

Sister is happy. LOL.

She was actually bored and just got excited when the much anticipated FIREWORKS DISPLAY happened. And then got bored and just got excited when SPONGE COLA performed.

I decided to introduce them to my new favorite street food. DYNAMITE. My cousin liked it. My sister, not much. But whatever. She doesn't like a whole lot of food anyways.

Another sister and I photo.

The ever blurry but happy picture of my cousin and I. Oh wells. That's life.

I actually insisted that we should like take pictures here because the lights are so gorge. Okay now for my feels. I actually enjoyed it. And probably just like my sister's, I have to thank the FIREWORKS and SPONGE COLA for uplifting my spirit. Because I was kind of bored a little bit. But anyways overall, it was fun. This is probably gonna be my last Paskuhan for quite a while and yeah, I'm just so happy that I made the most out of it. Or at least I can say that.

Paskuhan Tips 101.

December 20, 2012 1
Paskuhan Tips 101.

I can't believe that it's like tomorrow already. I don't know know what its gonna be about but most likely Christmas, yeah? Hahaha but I know for sure that it's gonna be fun. Like, a whole lot of fun. For sure.

But it can't always be magical and wonderful because you know. Things happen. Here are some tips/DOs/DON'Ts and just about whatever I could think of for this moment to be wonderful.

If you're a Thomasian, you probably know what to expect. So these guides are probably for Freshmen/Outsiders.

1. Bring your I.D.

- Like, seriously. It'll be like a FastPass to Disney Land or something. Because those who don't have someone to bring them inside the university or probably can't contact their Thomasian friend would like queue and actually block the gate so if you don't bring your Thomasian I.D., that's gonna be your luck. More or less.

2. Bring something to sit on.

- Old newspapers, blankets, mats, whatever. It's gonna be your sanctuary for the whole night so yeah.

3. Don't expect to be able to use your phone to send texts or to be able to call.

- Nope. Unless you're lucky.

4. Please do not litter.

- Like, please understand that we (Thomasians) somehow actually paid for the event to happen and it's so mean of you guys to actually throw your rubbish anywhere you want. Isa bang malaking park ang UST? Hindi. Thanks.

5. Don't bring your car. Just carpool.

- So that we can avoid traffic. :))

A Look Back. UST Paskuhans.

November 25, 2012 1
A Look Back. UST Paskuhans.
As much as I'm concern, I actually haven't missed a single Paskuhan. Meaning my miscellaneous fee didn't go to nothing. If you're a Thomasian, you get what I mean, yeah? Okay not really bitter or anything about it. AT ALL. I'm just saying. And if you're not a Thomasian, you don't have the right to say anything about it. Maybe you're bitter.

Okay moving on...I won't really go into details because I probably forgot what happened already. I mean, it's been years. Literally.

The first Paskuhan I went to was not that bad, not that good either, like, maybe it's because I went out super early but the fireworks display cooperated and showed almost at the beginning of the program. Nice.

The first Paskuhan that I finished everything would probably be this one. Or did I finish this? Yeah, I think so. It's the Paskuhan that actually celebrated UST's 400 YEARS. This time, I went with my cousin.

The girl with fringe is actually a second degree friend that I met that time.

I noticed how bigger my group of friends get. I'm proud of myself. LOL.

Saw my seatmate along the way and decided to take a picture. Awesome.

In less than a month, it's Paskuhan once again. And luckily, I will be able to go because you know, right timing is right timing. I feel sorry for the group who wouldn't be able to come though. That's all! :)
