Giving Thanks to 2013

Giving Thanks to 2013

Twenty thirteen have been a big blessing for me. For real. I just want to start the year by looking back at the things I have accomplished sort of last year. Literally. LOL.

January - Even though I didn't celebrate it, my Blog turned 1 this month. Yay for me!

February - I turned 21 years old and these two lovely people surprised me with their little hidden agenda and it was a fun day at the hospital. Also celebrated it at home but I can't remember much from it. This also marked the end of my internship which was so educational and sometimes emotional but whatever LOL.

March- First week of March ended our sufferings. I'm talking about  Thesis. It was such a good learning experience though. And then university life ended unofficially and this month was the last time I was ever called a student. Quite emotional.

April - I graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and I couldn't be any happier to be able to be called a Thomasian Alumni. It's an honor. And I thank UST for teaching me things I know. I will always come back to you.

May - I celebrated Mother's day with two of the most awesome mothers I know. And I voted for the first time! It was tense!

June - Review class for the board examination started and this month also opened a lot of doors and windows for learning new things and meeting people from literally around the country. My mom also celebrated her birthday at a resort called White Corals and the sunset there is to die for!!

July - This month just heightened the stress of the review even more. But my cousin and I went to a debut party with some of our childhood friends and it was oh-awesome!

August - At the end of this month, I took the first of the two day exam for all inspiring medical technologists to be registered and I remember being so nervouse because I wasn't sure if I did good or if I am good enough for that matter.

September - I took the last tests and this month, I was a certified Medical Technologist and I can't even. I also got my first proper job as a Medical Tehnologist and this is also the first time I affixed my signature for something I have done professionally. It was priceless. I also made the decision to chop off more than 6 inches of my hair and it was liberating.

October - I was just enjoying work and trying to do what I have to do.

November - I watched the Hunger Games with my sisters and it was awesome spending time with the not so little ones anymore. It's just nice playing catch up sort of and I think it was the first time I treated them. It was nice.

December - I went out with my co-worker for the first time and we had fun. I also went to UST to check the fairy lights and thankfully had a freaking free concert. Also, the rainy Paskuhan happened! I also attended the annual Christmas Party of my favorite band. It was quite an eventful December. I'm really thankful for that.

A lot of eventful things happened but basically these are the highlight of my 2013. I can't wait to ride the waves of 2014 and probably be closer where I really want to be. If that even makes sense. I strongly suggest you guys reflect the way I did and yeah it was a therapeutic reflection and it really makes you think and thank. See yah!

Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 3

Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 3

1. I wouldn't forget this because this is like taken during our first day in our second internship. I am with my good friend which I was with during the first internship as well. What happened is that our first post (hematology) is kind of being renovated that very time so our head staff is busy directing his people on where to place things so he explained that he can't orient us that day and we actually had to stay outside while the rest of our co-interns were being oriented on their respective posts so we  just took pictures of ourselves and yeah these are the outcome.

2. This is a friend's photo that I grabbed moments before our retreat and we  (thesis leader and I) weren't actually supposed to be in the frame but that happened. Basically, this very day, we were supposed to present the first part of our thesis but then again, I think 4/5 of our members are actually going out for retreat so the leader and I had to come up with good vibes scenarios and that we just said that the remaining member would be able to present it properly and that we wouldn't have to worry and just believe. We look kind of problematic but you know, been there done that.

3. Brownies from sister's "boyfie" I actually ate stuff from the boyfriend too so even though they're sort of not  "together" anymore, I still thank the kid for being generous but to be honest, basing it from some stuff, I don't think I like you for my sister yet. Oh wells.

4. Sister's graduation! It's actually quite funny that my sister chose to have red lips that day and her classmates were like, Anne Curtis! Haha nothing much. Just wanna share this. Can I just share that my sister is more obsessed with make up than I am as of this moment? I remember when I was still her age, I also am obsessed with make up so maybe that's why I'm not that worried. It's like I know what exactly would happen to her when she's already my age now. Ha! Generation gap.

5. No idea lol. That's when I just came home from duty. At first he was like jumping non stop and when he calmed down, this happened. I think he just missed me a little bit too much.

A Look Back. UST Paskuhans.

November 25, 2012 1
A Look Back. UST Paskuhans.
As much as I'm concern, I actually haven't missed a single Paskuhan. Meaning my miscellaneous fee didn't go to nothing. If you're a Thomasian, you get what I mean, yeah? Okay not really bitter or anything about it. AT ALL. I'm just saying. And if you're not a Thomasian, you don't have the right to say anything about it. Maybe you're bitter.

Okay moving on...I won't really go into details because I probably forgot what happened already. I mean, it's been years. Literally.

The first Paskuhan I went to was not that bad, not that good either, like, maybe it's because I went out super early but the fireworks display cooperated and showed almost at the beginning of the program. Nice.

The first Paskuhan that I finished everything would probably be this one. Or did I finish this? Yeah, I think so. It's the Paskuhan that actually celebrated UST's 400 YEARS. This time, I went with my cousin.

The girl with fringe is actually a second degree friend that I met that time.

I noticed how bigger my group of friends get. I'm proud of myself. LOL.

Saw my seatmate along the way and decided to take a picture. Awesome.

In less than a month, it's Paskuhan once again. And luckily, I will be able to go because you know, right timing is right timing. I feel sorry for the group who wouldn't be able to come though. That's all! :)

Internship ONE. DONE.

Internship ONE. DONE.
I figured some people might read my INTERSHIP I post as Internship (I) as in, ME, MYSELF and I. But then that's actually (ONE). Just so you know. PEACE! :D So I just had my last night duty and last duty in that sense.

Memories! I'll definitely miss my staffs there. It's been 5 months of Internship and WOW thinking about it now, that was fast. I know I blogged about me wishing it to be over soon but hey. I actually think that everyday was a day well spent. And that's all that matters for now.

Sadly, I'm not gonna be with anyone in the picture on my next IN. In this picture, and the one below this, I'm actually closest to ALI. You might have seen her somewhere else so yeah. She's actually my hospital group mate so most of the time, if not always, we're scheduled together and stuff.

Gonna miss these guys. Except for UST people though. I guess NOT TOO MUCH because we'll actually get to see each other on Tuesdays and Fridays. ADDITIONAL UNI DAY! YUP! :D

JAMAE! We're actually gonna be together so no worries. She's another group mate and for some reason, I'm actually close to all my group mates so yeah. I'm gonna miss them all. Except for those that I'm gonna be with next IN though. Unfair? Okay whatever. I'll miss them all. LOL.

:) Jayme, Jamae, myself, and Joem. LOL.

The same person who drew out Blood Bank thank you letter drew this piece with all the Laboratory Staffs. Awesome! Like, legit. Proud post mate right here. LOL.

And we wrote stuff that we want to tell them staffs so yeah. :)

RANDOM PICTURE. LOL.

So...I guess that's it. One chapter of my book is now closed. Cherished, lived, loved, and will always remember. And just in case I forget some minute details, I could always look back.

Random Japan Pictures Part 2. A Look Back.
Just so you know, there are more to life than my Random Japan Pictures Part 1. A Look Back. That's why it's PART 1. DUH! LOL. I'm so hyper because I'm blogging instead of doing school stuff due on Tuesday. Oh wells. Why am I the biggest procrastinator ever?

Yup! Hanging around with my rollers still on. I own the streets! LOL.

Yup! Rollers and PJs. So ME! LOL. I love how my mom is all dressed up during these times and I look like I just literally got up out of bed or something. LOL.

SEA PARADISE. Didn't I have proper clothes in Japan? LOL. I wonder.

Random Japan Pictures Part 1. A Look Back.

Random Japan Pictures Part 1. A Look Back.

I miss doing this. It may sound whatever to you but yeah. Pigeons in Japan don't belong to some household or stuff. Pigeons are actually everywhere in Japan. Okay not everywhere. Usually parks. Like, as long as you have something they can eat, they would literally swarm like this. What I usually bring is a bag of popcorn and kind of grind it and spread it in the air or whatever.

I just like how pigeons are free to fly there. Here in the Philippines, most likely than not, they are owned. Oh well. Look at these happy pigeons. PRICELESS.

I definitely miss that rabbit thingy. I used to sleep with it by my side. I wonder where it is now though. Now, I certainly have nothing to do with the big bear but whatever. LOL.

Just playing! :)

Patience is a virtue. Uh-huh.

Patience is a virtue. Uh-huh.

Let me tell you a story about this MANGO TREE. About 12 years ago, my cousin and I ate an INDIAN MANGO that our grandmother made us eat. The mangoes were so good that my cousin and I decided to plant the seed in a small sort of box where my mom used to plant all sorts of plants. I then asked my grandfather how long would it take for the plant to actually grow and bear fruits? My grandpa answered something like 10 or 11. I felt like all my dreams fell apart when I heard that. From that point, I didn't actually think that it is possible for me to see it. Like, 10 years seems to be sooooo long. Despite what my grandpa said, I used to check for improvements and all that.

Couple of months after, I noticed that there's a new plant there and I told my mom that the mango actually grew from the seed I planted. For some reason, my cousin's mango disappeared. But we reckon that they kind of fused together and grew as one. I remember when we used to tear a leaf, split it in half, and smell it.

Years later, my grandpa decided to transfer the small plant in sort of a bigger place and I kind of freaked out when it disappeared but then he told me that he did indeed transfer it for it to grow bigger.

Summer before college, I noticed that the mango tree started to bear fruits. And it made me look back to the days when I thought that it is impossible for me to see it grow and bear fruits. It may sound silly but I actually learned that sometimes time really makes us forget what's impossible.

Thanks to my grandpa who believed in me and my cousin and helped us with our craziness. But look at us now. Look what we have! (tears)
