20/20 Vision

January 08, 2020 0
20/20 Vision
It’s been 2 years since I got my vision back to normal. It’s probably the best decision I’ve made in this life. Also, the rhinoplasty but yeah I might have it fixed again in the future but yeah two modifications that I did in my body is the best decision I’ve made in my life so far. I’m just happy that I get to see everything much clearly hassle free. I used to wear contacts and it’s not very nice. If you are inexperienced like me, you might feel like you’re scraping part of your eye each time but oh well.

I will miss 2019 because it was a year of failure, adventure, lessons, love, and dreams. I hope 2020 will be better. Now before I say goodbye to it for real, let me just post this one last time. Also, it’s relevant because I went to this country with a 20/20 vision. Ha!

STAR CITY, PHILIPPINES

NARA, JAPAN

HONG KONG DISNEYLAND

NAMI ISLAND, SOUTH KOREA

2020, am I right? It’s scary to be honest. With all the news about World War III and stuff. I don’t know if it’s safe in the US or like in the Philippines or like anywhere. I mean, probably not in the Philippines because if it all comes down to it, we will most likely die. Maybe I’ll just stay in Japan. Anyways. I just wish it doesn’t carry on because it’s just a waste of human lives and resources. Who will rescue my dogs? Oh can I just say that during the holiday break, I watched all of the Hunger Games movies and to be honest, different but the same. Also, why is there no Shopee/Lazada 1.1 sale? Just a thought.

あけましておめでとう!

December 30, 2019 0
あけましておめでとう!

2020. End of another decade. I mean, I know it’s all going too fast but man, this year passed by like a breeze. I have stayed in the Philippines for like 11 months now. I have been working for 6 months now and yeah, time just went by like that. I have so many things to be thankful for. I have been in 4 countries in one year. I mean, that’s the life, right? I can’t wait to be in 5 next year! I’m just kidding. Wait, am I? LOL. You know what though, I think I want to visit all the provinces in the Philippines because, I’m already here, right? Might as well! I’m gonna be 28 this year. Like, 28, ladies and gentlemen. OMG.

Can I just share that it’s my first time tasting this and yeah not a fan. It’s too spongy for me. I feel like I can have something better at a cheaper price, you know what I mean? That’s all! I won’t be having resolutions because I always fail. One thing I would like to do is to drink lotsa water I think. My SGOT and SGPT levels are on the roof! Also my triglycerides! I can’t believe I’m already having tita problems when I’m not even a tita yet! Well I have one nephew but hey! Well it’s probably because I’m fat so yeah I’m kinda planning to eat less this year too.

You know what I fear though? I just keep on getting fatter! Like I’ve never been able to find a photo where I’m fatter than I am now. So let me just share this photo because this might be the slimmest I’ll be or something. Hate it!!!! Totally not hating myself or something though just the thought of it makes me kinda annoyed. That’s all! Happy New Year!

New Hair, New Life?

February 22, 2017 1
New Hair, New Life?

Yes mga bes, I decided to cut my hair short again. I know that I'd regret this later but you know, it's been doing me good so far.

And yes, I had it in a new place yet again. This is the best place I've been so far. Or so I think. I booked 3 weeks ahead of time and I was accomodated on time! I have nothing against busy salons but if you're going to say I'm booked at a certain time, please know that my lazy ass would appreciate if you would provide me with your good service then and there. Thank you very much.

Before

The main reason I wanted this haircut is because I feel like my almost waist length hair then was getting out of control. It looked super nice but deep inside, it was so broken that I had to cut it! OMG, life! But yeah.

After

I feel like a new person after. I also literally just cut a few years worth of hair so I don't feel complety 25. I'm just in denial of course. LOL.

Color

As for my new hair color, like I always do, I told them to make it lighter and I guess they can't move much higher the chart so there's that.

Treatment

The treatment was so nice I must say. It made my so uncooperative hair nice for a couple of washes I think. But you know, my hair is rude as eff so it was like back to what it is shortly after. I'm not complaining though! That's just my hair. The cut made all the difference! Will probably cut it again soon! Probably.

Ta-da!

Anyways, for the cut + color + treatment combo, I only paid 8,900 yen like it said on the website. Probably the cheapest price that I paid for such services. I might actually just stick to this salon now I know that my time and money would be so well spent here so yeah, ciao!

Let it Rain, July :)

Let it Rain, July :)

I kind of don't want the rain. But you know, there's nothing we can do. So I say, let's just take pictures and get it over with. Also, at some point, someone's been waiting for this moment so let's not spoil it for them.

Nakayama Station

Drunk People on board

I kind of like the weather because it's not too hot. And I like the sound. But I don't like that it's wet. Gracious goodness. Anyways. I may have said that a million times already.

violet colored flower

Gloomy Sagamihara

It's the rainy season and it's not fun to be outside but yeah let's make the most out of it anyways. Stay dry. Also, it's July. Who saw this coming? Ciao!

Orange is the New Black

June 15, 2016 2
Orange is the New Black

I don't know what I'd be in prison for but if I have to be put there, I hope I look like this all the time. Vain. Ugh. OITNB. This is what I have been watching religiously lately that I have been dreaming of it. Can I just say that I dreamt that I was with my sisters and cousin one night and we killed this girl. I remember it was like Hunger Games' blood bath because we're throwing arrows and shit and yeah someone threw an axe and hit my sister Mika's shoulder. I was damn scared. Then for some reason, I had a tourniquet in my bag, dashed some gin and that stopped the bleeding. Who knew? Back with the girl we killed, she died violently in our hands. We punched her do death and stabbed her even. Man, I don't even know if she's the one who threw the axe. Anyways, we also tried to conceal her body because apparently, we killed her in a mall garden. We then tried to throw it somewhere I can't remember. Dark times. It's only just a dream people. Don't freak out.

I have finished watching season 2 and counting? Let's get it straight. I don't ever want to be in prison but this show is bomb. Here are my thoughts about the prisoners. I have a problem with Alex Vause. I think I don't like her. I mean, why do you guys like her again? I don't have a favorite character at this point yet but you know, just being nosey and checking everyone out. I'd like to say Chapman but nah, I think she's like Vause but you know, from a different perspective, I'm rooting on her. I kind of like Maritza's character but nah. Not much of a character I realized. A lot of attitude though. Also, she's pretty. Instinct tells me this Asian chick Brook should be my home girl but I haven't seen a lot of her yet. She's too loud for some reason. Mmm... I think I like Nicky. I can see myself in her for some reason. You know, looking after her friends and all that. I also like Morello. I mean, she's just so precious. And innocent if you ask me. Who else? I like Tiffany for some reason. I mean, I didn't like it when she was all cranky and all that but I learned to like her I think. I like Bennett only because he's cute but you know, gutless mothereffer. Sayang. I liked Rosa's little gesture. I mean, she did killed the Queen Vee so that's something. Maybe I don't like prisoners in general. Well of course.

Anyways, I did a test from a website and this happened. TWICE. I actually have a love and hate relationship with Red but I can see some of our similar traits. That's all. And oh by the way, Red flirting with Healy is so uncalled for. Ciao!

Cooking for the Fam!

February 09, 2016 0
Cooking for the Fam!

Now that lola's in heaven, it's my mom's duty to prepare food for everyone. Whilst I was there, I had an opportunity to do that as well.

CHICKEN CALDERETA

With instant packages available, it's actually a lot easier to prepare food nowadays. But you know, the ultimate goal is to know how to make things from scratch. Well I kinda know how to but execution is more difficult.

BEEF MECHADO

Can I just say that the beef took forever to become tender. After boiling it for an hour and a half, my mom was like, I can't really do anything about it so maybe I should stop there. And so I did. What are they feeding these cows anyways? I reckon RUBBER. It was actually good. Minus the beef haha.

Not all chunk was hard though. There were still some edible pieces. And guess who enjoyed the really rubberized cut? SHIKI (my dog) who was sick that time. We don't waste food at our house. We have plenty of dogs to even worry about left-overs.

CARBONARA

I liked the carbonara. Ciao! :)

Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 6

August 16, 2013 0
Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 6

1. This. I was actually supposed to blog this haul but then again I can't find my camera's memory card where I saved the pictures so yeah. I actually didn't want anything like, my mom told me that she'll buy me blue or green pants daw and I was like, no thank you and she was like, no. You need it. Weird, yeah? And then she also asked me to choose some shoes and I chose that blue shoes which I kind of regret buying even though I've been wearing it religiously. It's just that I think the color kind of faded na and the glitters fell off na. Well most of it. Well it was kind of expected to happen naman pero still. Oh and for some reason, I've been wearing flats a lot lately and it feels weird but anyways.

2. Shabu-Shabu! It's been a while since my last shabu-shabu. I think I was like not a teenager even when I last had this type of food. Or I probably just forgot. This place is not that good but it's cheap daw according to tito so game lang. This is also the first time I saw my tita and cousin again. Well tito as well so it's kind of a reunion thingy. Also, can we just spot my cousin Yoshi who I think was so tired that he can't even anymore.

3. Actually, this happened before number 2 but I figured it doesn't look good on the frame if I would put this on number 2 position so yeah. So this is what happened. I was from my review right? And then I went to my lola's dialysis center and then I saw them there and yeah. After a while, we went to the mall to have lunch right? And then we went to the game center and yeah my cousin actually enjoyed it so much and then he was lucky to be able to hit the jackpot prize like twice daw and yeah he accumulated a lot of tickets and he was able to exchange it to some gummy bears and stuff. And then he fell asleep in the car and yeah number 2 happened.

4. My mom loves this place called Teresita's at Timog and this is just a picture of my lola eating Kare-Kare which I highly recommend by the way! It's delish.

5. You probably know by now that I am obsessed with sunsets and I think I've shown you quite a lot of sunsets from the same spot but I still find it beautiful everytime.

Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 4

Memory Corner | Flashback Friday 4

1. You might be confused as to what this picture is all about. If you would look closely, there's a colorful something something up above the tree. That's actually a parrot. What happened was it escaped from its owner and then the owner said that he would give a 5000 pesos grant to the person that would catch and bring back the parrot to the owner. Can I just say that the parrot was really mean because a guy actually attempted to climb that tree but when he was about to grab the parrot, it flew and transferred to a far away tree and yeah.

2. A picture of my sister Mika and I at Manila Bay. Actually, Harbour Square back when we ate somewhere there. If you don't know it already, I'm obsessed with sunset. So even though we can't be seen and recognized in that picture, that picture is precious.

3. Internship! :) I miss everything about internship. This is during my Clinical Microscopy rotation. And also during when we exchanged gifts. As you can see, I'm eating a Krispy Kreme and just checking out my group mate who is studying medicine now by the way.

4. My lovey Hashi eating her favorite food. Instant noodles. Like whenever I would eat noodles, Hashi would come and wag her tail and stuff and then I got curious and gave her a strand and she loved it. The picture is not actually the first time but whatever.

Some Good Tea @ Affinitea

July 05, 2013 0
Some Good Tea @ Affinitea
WALL OF GOOD VIBES
I haven't seen this anywhere else yet so I'm assuming that this branch is the only branch. In case you're wondering, Affinitea is somehow near San Sebastian College in Manila. The last time I attempted to try something in this place, it was full so I just went to Chill Out which is literally beside this place. We were supposed to do the same thing but then my cousin noticed the place is empty so we went in right away. MUST BRING POST ITS NEXT TIME.

GOOD STUFF
This is probably the first time my cousin didn't get Caramel Milk Tea. She ordered some honey tea stuff and she didn't like it that much. I guess she's just used to the taste of Caramel Milk Tea that's why she didn't enjoy it. She also said that the bubbles are harder than the usual. BUT I LOVED MINE. Mine is the shorter cup by the way and I ordered some cocoa stuff with rock salt and cheese. The lady was also kind enough to ask me if I want my drink uncovered. I said yes of course. It's easier to mix and savor the drink that way anyways.

It's a relatively big place for a tea shop and it's really nice although I wouldn't say that the place is very ideal to stay at which is typical for tea places by the way. For some reason, it's too noisy inside. I'm not complaining of course. I'm just saying. Can I just say that the staffs were really nice. But still noisy.

MYSELF AND MY COUSIN
Just a side note, we were actually from PRC before we went here. Thanks to MY COUSIN for accompanying me and falling in line for me and stuff like that. If not for her, I wouldn't finish the whole examination application process a little bit earlier. So thank you! :) Can I just say that I was a little bit irritated by that one lady at the processing window because she was like doing hand movements and I was like, what the eff is happening here? And then when I asked her to repeat what she have just said, she was like irritated that I didn't here it the first time. WHAT? WOMAN, YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING SO DON'T YOU DARE ACT LIKE THAT. It's pretty ironic that we have people like that inside the PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION. But I'm good now.

THE AWESOME COUSIN

Nobody Deserves to Die

July 03, 2013 0
Nobody Deserves to Die
But some cases are hopeless. But some people are asking for it. Therefore, it shall be given to them. This is a post about my opinion on the 35 year old Filipina who will be executed in China any time now. And just about my opinion on it being the punishment.

So the story is this Filipina was caught carrying a prohibited drug at the airport. Coincidence? I don't think so. Her parents are saying that their child is a victim. Really? The woman is not a first timer and I know that she knows what her doing. She just don't know she's gonna get caught! Too bad. Does she deserve to die? NO. She just deserve to be punished. Too bad for her though, China's law states that her act is punishable by death. In that case, she deserve it. I pity her. I pity her family. Especially her children. I know for a fact that their mother just want the best for them that's why she was able to that (and so are hold uppers) but man, it doesn't have to be done that way. The thing is she wanted it the easy way. I don't know if it's even that easy to do that because I bet her conscience killed her many times and stuff like that but you know, she should have said no. And then the media is like, she's just a victim! NOPE. She's aware. She agreed. She hoped that she wouldn't be caught.

I have to say that I think The Philippine government did their part and I'm somehow thankful that they did what they did. The President wrote a letter asking to just punish her with lifetime imprisonment instead of death. And The Vice President went to China to appeal. I mean even though they know the rules. Hindi naman yan sinabi lang on the spot. It's written somewhere and for sure our officials know that rules are rules. But they tried. And I sensed equality. This is not actually the first time this happened. The Government didn't fail to help the families of the people to be convicted and to appeal to the government of different countries so I'm happy for that. Because you know, we should all be protected by our government no matter what. I guess this should be a warning to Filipinos who are not fully aware that this things happen. You can't always get away. So please do yourselves a favor and stop doing illegal stuff. Stop being selfish. First, you're not sure you're gonna get away. Second, you're giving The Filipino people a bad name. I know it's hasty generalization but whatever. I just hope that this would be last time that someone would be killed because of such wrong decision.

Am I pro lethal injection? Not really. I strongly believe that some people really deserve a second chance. SOME. Because for example, if someone killed probably 3 persons, I don't believe that person should be given another chance. Actually, if someone killed someone just because of stupid reasons (jealousy, money, envy, etc.), that's already unforgivable. For me the only valid reason to kill someone is when you're defending yourself or someone from a killer. "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". To be honest, I'm more pro than against it actually. Maybe it should be back in the system. Maybe it's a way to reduce the criminal rate here in The Philippines. Maybe it would make this country a safer place to live. I bet it would be nice walking around Recto without worrying that someone would stab you and get your things. With a very reliable group of people that would assess a certain case, this might be our best option. I'm not saying this punishment is the answer to everything of course.

Can I just share that in one of our lessons, our lecturer said that before, when lethal injection is still the capital punishment, they were deciding to give the task of injecting the lethal injection to medical technologists since looking for veins is kind of our forte but then the council said that it's against our Code of Ethics so yeah. When he mentioned that, I instantly wondered how it feels like to be the one to inject that thing and end someone's life. Must feel horrible. But I'm still curious. Would I do it? Probably.

Tea Time with Cathy and Mikie

June 30, 2013 1
Tea Time with Cathy and Mikie
I truly believe this should be a legit segment on my blog. But sometimes, I get disappointed by teas so I don't get inspired to continue with that kind of posts but now, I think that no matter how much I loathe (big word) the teas that I've tried, I must share it with you. That's all! Let's go!!

Okay this one we tried because we don't have a choice. I guess we just wanted to have a tea and somehow rest our feet from our tiring UST trip. So that happened. Anyways. I kind of regret we didn't drink at ChaTime because wala lang. Anyways.

I actually didn't enjoy the tea but the taste is actually interesting. I actually  don't remember it's exact flavor but if I can remember it right, it's something like green tea yogurt. Or some macha yogurt. Okay I've checked it now. It's Yogurt Green Tea. I kind of regret picking that flavor because firstly, I wasn't able to taste the green tea. Secondly, I wasn't able to taste the yogurt. That's just sad you know. Oh and despite choosing the normal level of sweetness, thirdly, I wasn't able to taste the sugar. I was able to taste my cousin's drink and it was actually alright.

For some reason, my cousin always picks the safe flavor so good for her. Not always, but I like experimenting with flavors.

So next up! This happened probably two days ago, just after my review class. I was like, okay maybe I need to chillax a little bit. So I asked my cousin to go with me and find a place to kind of settle down and just be a potato for a while.

But that didn't happen. Instead, I asked my cousin to help me write stuff so yeah. But she was like, texting half the time. Boo. LOL. Anyways, we went to a place called Gong Cha by the way. In Cubao.

Okay so I got Salted Caramel Tea or is that even the flavor of it? But something close if not that. It was alright. I mean, nothing like Happy Lemon but yeah. It's a little more expensive than Happy Lemon stuff so that makes it a little disappointing.

My cousin's drink is Caramel Tea which was okay. As usual. Oh well. Can't wait to try more teas! :) Good vibes!

Getting Touristy at UST

June 07, 2013 1
Getting Touristy at UST
If you have been with me for some time, you may have known that I am from The University of Santo Tomas which I'm really proud of by the way and I can't imagine myself being an alumni of a different institution. I don't mean to offend any schools of course. It's just a matter of preference. So last week, I went back to check and to run some errands that I would be needing for the board exam application and shiz like that but mostly to check and take some pictures and stuff like that. Well of course! Actually, I wasn't able to accomplish paper works because of stuff so I'll definitely come back for that soon.

IN FRONT OF THE MAIN BUILDING NOT THE CHURCH
I'm pretty sure I have a picture the same as this but I don't know. Just kidding! I'm not sure. Never sure on anything these past few days, eh? So I kind of already saw the things (major letterings) I am about to show you guys below but only in pictures so when I saw it in person, I was like, excited because come on! When will I be able to go to UST with these on? With no students? Not anytime soon. So yeah we took an ample amount of pictures!

What I liked about this trip is that since there's no regular classes, there's literally just the two of us (my cousin and I) most of the time. Precious!

I'm not gonna talk about my med issues to you but this one is pretty nice. I have an issue with the general idea of this though. I'm kind of bothered by the way they spelled the things because as you can see from above, it's like this MEd. Why though? Can't spell properly, huh?

I CHOSE TO FEATURE THIS BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS BEEN HER DREAM TO BECOME ONE.

Okay so for some reason, I wasn't able to go out the arc just yet. But I kind of lost my interest in doing that but I might do it soon. And if  I do, I want it to be dramatic. LOL. You're probably thinking what the heck I'm talking about but it's like a tradition for first year students to enter the arch of the centuries and then exit upon graduation but then again I wasn't able to exit due to some unknown reasons so there you go.

REPRESENT! :D

This is probably the most exciting part of the trip. Like, I was so surprised that they placed this kind of seat and then I asked my cousin why is she not excited and she said she's pretty sure I'm the only one who got excited with the existence of this thingy. I'm pretty sure not! I don't know if this is like a permanent thing though. Because things come and go. LOL. True story. Anyways, it was such a fun experience to go back there. UST will always be my home away from home.
