ShikiMikie Kare Rice Recipe!

Image
Kare rice is probably that one food I can eat everyday. It's so easy to make! And it is so delicious! With the emergence of instant kares though, which I don't have anything against by the way, it's still nice to make one from scratch I suppose. I can't make the curry from scratch so thank curry cubes for that.  So, all you have to do is to put all the ingredients in and let it all boil together. Then add the cubes to make the kare sauce. Then done! When I make this, I can eat this for like, 3 days straight. This has been my favorite ever since I can remember so yeah. Can I just say that not all people like this. Like, my mom said it taste like medicine so yeah. Can’t relate.  I like my Kare spicy spicy ! Like, max. Although the one they sold at the supermarket already at max, it’s not spicy enough for me so what I do is I add chili oil. I also add shio kosho to taste.  This is soo easy to do. This is actually the simplest ingredients you can put in. I add broccoli some...

Den Yakiniku Review

Image
Starting platter. So basically this is for you to figure out what you want but if you go to a place like this, you order everything you see on the menu and then figure out what you like later. Take it from me. Actually, you don't really have to figure out anything. Just eat. GDI.      They also have a salad bar which I was smart not to touch this time.      Fruits, salad dressings, and jellies   Grilling time!!   Man, I ate a lot again! Like, why? I always do that though. I eat until I feel sick. Story of my life.    fam bam    They also have a drink bar but it didn't have tea bags so obviously, we weren't able to take home those from here. I'm just kidding. NOT. Can I just say though, if you can't sleep at night, you know how they say drink warm milk, right? Some say drink chamomile tea, right? When I mixed them, boom. Soooo effective!! No more sleepless nights. I happily shared this formula with my mom and she was like...

Ichiran Ramen Japan

Image
Ichiran Selfie Ichiran Vending Machine Check List  Also, the one in Harajuku, I didn't wait as long as I waited in Shibuya. Which is always nice!  Ramen  You can see the first time I tried Ichiran in this post. Totally different vibe but still not as good as I expected.  I retried Ichiran because I don't want to not like it. As much as I don't like mainstream anything, I can't just let this go. But then again it didn't turn out exactly like I want to so I retried again. Persistence is key. This is already the best combination I could imagine. Steamed Pork with Nori, Special Vinegar, and Ramen. I also changed my list a little by ordering them to put a stronger tasting broth but it didn't make a significant difference.  Steamed Pork I remember hearing two Japanese guys sitting beside me talking how they missed and really like it but no! Not me. But you know! Still! I might give this another try someday but now, it's just not my cup of tea. Ciao!

New Calbee Potato Chips.

Image
Huge fan of potato chips. In fact, it's my guilty pleasure. Sometimes even though I don't feel like eating the whole bag, I do! Just because. It's a problem. Anyways. Calbee is my favorite potato chips brand and they do come up with new flavors a lot but I feel like that they're doubling up this time for some reason. Coming up with flavors week after week.  Ume Shio Wasabi  Needless to say, Wasabi is my least favorite. Shio is okay. Ume is good. I probably won't buy anything from this line though but it's not totally a disaster.  Garlic Soy Sauce Not really a fan but generally a good flavor and I did enjoy actually. Sour and Cream What could go wrong with good old sour and cream, right? This was awesome. Not quite remarkable though but it was delish. Anyways, ciao!

Time for Oden!

Image
Don't get me wrong though. Anytime is a fairly good time to have Oden. I remember getting them as early as August haha but since it's getting colder now, this time of the year is best to start devouring for a cup (or two).  If you're wondering where to get yourself one, go-to Oden is pretty much a convenience store thing. Usually at the counter, it's quite easy to spot. Depending on the store's policy, sometimes they do allow you to scoop things out from their little machine thingy directly to your cup. But most of the time, they do the job because some of the ingredients are quite delicate so they probably don't want the hassle of mashed bits in there.   FAMILY MART 7/11 LAWSON ORIGIN BENTOU If you can't tell already, I love DAIKON! :)) Anyways, I got to say that 7/11 is probably my favorite place to get an Oden. It's just that I think they do have more variety to choose from and it's really quite yummy and distinct compared to others. They also hav...

At least it's delicious. LOL.

When I came home (090312), I saw this at the table. Oh boy. Diet ruined. To be honest, I actually had cheeseburger from Burger Machine and then had some dinner and then this. What diet am I talking about again? LOL.     GUILTY PLEASURE! For reals! It's a potato snack and it's dang good. It's actually a Calbee product and anything from Calbee is expected to be delish. Confirmed! And FATTY of course.  I noticed that whenever I am in Japan, just because I eat potato chips from Calbee too much, I gain pounds and pounds just like that. So this one is from Hokkaido, yeah? I don't know much about their potatoes but whatever. Anything from Hokaiddo must be something legit. I just know. LOL.   It's like double fried and deep deep fried french fries. And when you take a bite of it, you know you're gonna gain a pound or two in an instant. It's really very crunchy and stuff. Really fattening I suppose. But at least it's delicious. LOL...

Ichihara Zoo. A Look Back.

Image
This is way back I don't know already (7 years ago according to the picture below). Like, yeah. I can't remember much from this trip though. We fed some elephants, rode one and that's pretty much it! I remember eating my favorite Jap food kare rice beforehand too! Oh and I remember when my sisters got their name tags somewhere at the entrance so that they can be found when lost or something like that.  When we were there, we found out that most elephant trainers there are Indonesian/Malaysian and that the elephants are mostly from there too. I don't know about now though. Most likely the same, yeah?  So yeah! That's pretty much all I can remember from the trip.  I don't know who took this picture but thanks for cutting me out! LOL.
