French Baker's Macarons Review

November 03, 2013 0
French Baker's Macarons Review

I have told you before that I was a little bit disappointed on Macarons that I have so far tasted. Well actually, I have only tasted one and not impressive at all. And I was like, I'm not gonna give up on these colorful babies and would give it another try. Here's my verdict for the second attempt.

I got these Macarons from another familiar bakery in town. French Bakery. I have mixed feelings about this store actually. I mean, it's just that I don't really like breads all that much and the one I've tasted from this store didn't really impress me all that much so yeah. And the reviews I've seen listed Tous Les Jours' macarons above this one so I was like, there can't be anything worse than that! LOL. Just kidding. But really though thinking about it now, their macarons were pretty bad.

You know me! These details just made me wanna cry! LOL. But I must say that their illustration is very well made. Love! I hope to live on that house where the girl stands. Must be very magical there!

Verdict you ask? Well. It could be worse. I mean, just like Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, there are good and bad flavors. And if in doubt, you can always trust brown coloured deserts. I think that's all I've enjoyed. The pinks were the foul ones and the green which I bet is Pistachio is kind of foul too but I partly like it. And the orange one was kind of okay. Definitely zesty so might have been some choco drizzled orange or something. Just a disclaimer, I don't know the official flavours of these macarons. I wish I knew. As a conclusion, nothing worse than the pinks. They taste oh so fake. One more try (from another store) and I would really give up on the pinks. Okay that's all guys!

So Going Back Here

So Going Back Here
Just a little bit of kwento. I went to SM Manila right after I accompanied my friend to buy a compiled reviewer for the board exam and then I didn't want to go home right away also because I was a little bit panicky yesterday. One thing I should remember is to never ask people how far they have gone with their review. It makes me want to cry so I'm better off alone. Anyway.

Well actually, I went to SM Manila thinking I would try French Bakery's Macaroons but unfortunately, they don't sell it there or they probably run out of it or something but that macaroon tasting didn't happen so I was like roaming around and then searching for a tea/coffee/yogurt place instead and voila! Saw this little tea place beside the cinema. I was like, so going there!! I'm a lucky soul.

So luckily, I brought my notes with me and I decided to study a little bit whilst I was there. And what I like about this place is that when I take a brake or whenever I would look up just to rest my neck, I would see this art piece and then I would feel the determination rushing through my veins. Like, no joke. Maybe  all I need is an art like this and post it on my wall as well. Mmm...

I got a Blueberry Yogurt which was awesome! But like any other yogurt drink, it doesn't taste right anymore after many sips so yeah. You know like when it's too bitter already like, on the tongue? No?

Paris and Prada

Paris and Prada
Well actually, this is just a Paris appreciation post. Haha and a little bit of The Devil Wears Prada review. I downloaded it this week and was able to watch it the other day so let's keep moving, shall we? We shall. Okay my thought after watching the movie. It actually really inspired me to pursue my dreams. Whatever that is. Okay this is kind of vague but I got it. I got it. Or at least I think.

The Devil Wears Prada approves that Paris is the biggest deal of the year so whatever and for some reason, I can really identify with Andrea pretty much. The main story is that she got hired to be Miranda's assistant in New York and even though it isn't an easy job (AT ALL), and she's not really into fashion (when she applied) she stayed and worked hard because she had a vision. A vision of meeting other people through the job. Other people that might get her somewhere else. Good thinking. I really think that her dream to be a journalist is the same as my dream to travel. So it's almost the same. I don't really mind what work I should do and stuff. As long as it would take me to the places I want to be, then be it.

Paris isn't sported as much in the film as much as I wanted to but I was able to pick up some life lessons and that's just awesome. Paris at night is a win-win though. Me likey. There should be more films showing the beautiful city at night. Midnight in Paris is one but that's like so midnight that I didn't really appreciate the lights and stuff anymore. Although I did love the vintage feel of it.

My favorite character got to be Emily, I think. Because she's so dedicated and she even helped Andrea to survive that job at the beginning. And she likes Paris. I don't know if this is a bad thing or good thing but I don't see myself as Miranda Priestly as much. Sure I used to want to own a fashion company but now I actually can see myself more being Andrea. Mmm...I just think that being Miranda is like being in control of everything. It can be good or bad though.  If you're in control, then you can do everything you want without having to consider other's opinion. It's also a bad thing for me because it might get a little one sided and if all else fails, you know that it's you to blame. And knowing that you can control the situation, you would probably just blame someone else. Which once again, you can. So yeah. Although Miranda's  character is somehow likeable, I can't understand her completely. I love that she wants the best for her twins though. Let alone that unpublished Harry Potter manuscript. OMG! So yeah. At the end, Andrea found a job that's more of her style and she said she learned a lot from her previous job and that's what I want as well. Learn. Good vibes!

Hers and Mine.

March 15, 2013 0
Hers and Mine.
Like I said, I was catching up with movies and this time, I'm gonna review Bourne Identity. Well not really review though. Just gonna say something about it and what my opinions on it are and stuff like that. Actually, I watched When in Rome before Bourne but it was so kinda walang kwenta kaya 'wag nalang. Haha. This one is like an old film na. Released 2002 pa. Pero anyways.

So it is about Jason Bourne, an assassin who lost his memory. He was found floating by some fishermen sort of. The guy who was cutting his body sort of found out that he got shot and yeah good thing there's someone in the boat who knows how to remove it from his body and all that stuff. And then the interesting part was there was a tiny laser kind of bullet found in his hip and when the doctor/that someone flashed it on the wall, it revealed his bank number. Okay so fast forward.

The cops were everywhere looking for him and he don't know why. He still got the skills though. Fighting and all that self defense stuff. Then he had to go to Paris but riding a train's too dangerous and everything else so he followed the girl in the front of the line when he was in the US Embassy and kind of heard her problem that she's broke and all that. So he offered him 10 grand for a ride to Paris and that he'll give him another 10 when they get there. And then the girl kind of put herself in danger by actually doing that but even though Jason Bourne, the assassin I was talking about already instructed her to go to the police and say everything she knows to clear her name but she didn't. Oh well. And so she was then part of the target. Like, she went with him everywhere and then she was given a chance to go away with Jason Bourne's remaining money and even though she doesn't want to go, she did.

Jason Bourne then fixed things and when he was able to, he was able to find the girl and yeah. Happy ending.

Favorite Eiffel Looks.

October 22, 2012 0
Favorite Eiffel Looks.
So recently, I've reached 1000 pictures of Eiffel Tower. I don't know why I did it but I did it anyways. I actually made a picture/video presentation of it and yeah, it's just nice to look at it.

If you're interested in watching, gotta post a link to it soon.

Just to kind of summarize it all. Here are my top 5 looks of the Eiffel Tower that I did with my daily obsession of looking at it and saving it to my phone.

CLOUDY EIFFEL
For some reason, I get really really excited when there are changes or stuff on how the clouds are formed. I mean, I don't know. Is it just me or what? Oh the little things in this life.

CANDY CORN EIFFEL
I don't know but for some reason, I am really fascinated by colors. Like, I love how the colors are put up in this one. Someone amazing is really behind every elements of this earth. And the world. In that case. Just saying. And generally, I have a thing for sunsets.

MOONING EIFFEL
I love how visible the moon and the stars are in this one. Say what to not much pollution. Oh well. This picture really says something about the rest of the world.

LIGHTER EIFFEL
This is just so magical of an event that happens everyday. Oh how I wish to live in Paris.

CHRISTMAS EIFFEL
I love the vibes! Like, will never go amiss. This is just so fantastic. I can't even. There's so much feels! LOL. How can people in Paris sleep? I would probably do Eiffel Tower watch all day long and stuff.  Have a nice day! All of you.

Random Ramblings. Wanderlust.

September 28, 2012 1
Random Ramblings. Wanderlust.

Can I just say that I really want to travel and see the world first hand? For real. I just hope it'd be soon! I just want to experience life in another country, like, not as a foreigner and stuff but to actually be with its people and kind of learn from them. I just thought that being a foreigner is actually not the best thing to be, because most likely, you'll be treated as one. Unlike if you're a native and stuff, you'll get more. For sure. Culture, language, tradition, and stuff.

Countries I want to live to bucket list:

South Korea
France
England
United States of America
Australia

That's all!

500 days of Eiffel Tower.

August 22, 2012 0
500 days of Eiffel Tower.
Just so you know, I'm obsessed with Paris! Well, France as well. But mostly Paris. Okay, Eiffel Tower in particular. So I downloaded this APP like, so many months ago which shows live stream of the world's most famous landmarks and stuff so yeah! BINGO!

I don't know why but I feel so connected with the Eiffel Tower. Don't you worry guys! I'm not gonna marry it or something.  First of all! It's taken, isn't it?

So yeah, my adoration starts here!

The structure is sophisticated yet simple. If that makes sense.

So yeah, I used to really think of going to France (Paris) everyday before and yeah I don't know. Like, I used to research where to eat, to ride, to go to and stuff like that. I even studied French on my own. Obsessed like that, yeah? LOL. But then it all kind of stopped a little bit when internship started. Boo yah! Not really stopped though. Like, it mellowed.

Look! I even cross stitched it because of obsession and stuff.

I'm really proud of this by the way. A friend from Sydney told me that it looks like some spider and stuff but yeah. Whatever! LOL.

So you might be wondering why the title is like that so yeah. I tried to save all the live stream photos and just right at this very moment, I've reached 500! YAY! Actually, I based it from the movie 500 Days of Summer. But irregardless! LOL.

Here it goes ladies and gents. 500 faces of Eiffel Tower.

Awesome, right? Like, for real! So yeah. Hopefully to post a Paris trip blog soon! ;) Hey did you notice some people chilling over their veranda? LOL. I felt an instant connection to them when I saw them on the cam. LOL. So anyways. That'll be all for this post!

The APP is called Earth Cam by the way. Just in case you're wondering. Have a nice day!
